Product Description

Leucidal Liquid SF, leucidal liquid sf natural preservative, best natural preservative, leucidal

Leucidal Liquid SF Natural Moisturizing Antimicrobial

Leucidal Liquid SF is a probiotic-based ingredient created by the fermentation of Lactobacillus in a defined growth medium. Lactobacillus is one of the species of microorganisms used to produce fermented products, such as kimchi and sauerkraut, a Korean dietary staple, from cabbage. Like many members of the lactic acid bacteria family, Lactobacillus is capable of restricting the growth of other microorganisms by acidifying its environment. However, Lactobacillus also produces novel antimicrobial peptides, known as bacteriocins, that are capable of providing broad spectrum antimicrobial protection. During the manufacturing process, lysozyme is added to the ferment filtrate to facilitate a controlled cell lysis to ensure the release of the antimicrobial peptides for maximized activity.

Leucidal Liquid SF is versatile and can be used in a wide range of cosmetic products.

Lactobacillus is capable of restricting the growth of other microorganisms by acidifying its environment and producing novel antimicrobial peptides. These peptides, known as bacteriocins, are capable of providing broad spectrum antimicrobial protection.

Leucidal Liquid SF is water soluble and stable up to 70°C, and for pH ranges 3-8.

Example Recipe: Retinol Serum with Hyaluronic Acid (Basic Recipe)

  • 1/4 tsp Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid Powder)
  • 30-60 drops Leucidal Liquid SF
  • 1 oz Hydrosol and/or distilled water
  • 9-90 drops Retinol Liposome Cosmetic Additive (Depending on desired strength)

Leucidal Liquid SF works best with water-based recipes, like toners, and gels, like hyaluronic acid gel. It can be used as a secondary moisturizing preservative in lotions and creams, and in more complex formulations containing actives. For a broad-spectrum preservative in formulations containing active ingredients, use Leucidal SF Complete. Certain formulations may require additional preservatives in combination with this ingredient to offer complete broad-spectrum protection. Your own testing is recommended to ensure adequate preservation coverage.
