Product Description

Earth's Dawn is looming and the fate of the planet hangs in the balance! Sign up as a member of A.N.T.I. - a squad of super-human soldiers powered by alien technology - and fight to reclaim Earth from the alien invasion known as E.B.E before it's too late. Packed with super-fast sci-fi action, Earth's Dawn offers 2D side-scrolling gameplay in a beautiful hand-drawn style. Combat is intuitive, but deceptively deep with combos, finishers and rankings after enemy encounters all adding depth to the game, while RPG-style skill trees, equipment crafting and character evolution open up things even further. Choose your own path through 100 missions, earn rewards by clearing them with style and discover new plot threads behind Earth's counteroffensive, then fight huge bosses to crush the E.B.E. threat once and for all!

Repetitive Hack-and-Slash

Repetitive Hack-and-Slash
This game is essentially Odin Sphere with guns and stylings of buff marines form Gears of War.Story is very weak and predictable with no depth. There's an alien take over, there was no way to stop them until we steal their tech and weapons and integrate into our own like in the 2nd Independence Day movie . You are part of an army trying to eradicate all alien life and save the world. Most of the time you feel like you're a grunt, pawn or front-line solider of an larger organization going through a series of random missions instead of being part of your own storyCustomization:You start off by selecting a default appearance by choosing between a variety of styles and gender. Then add accessories via weapons and armor as you progress through the gameThere's an skill upgrade tree where you select from variety of attack, defense, tech or ability limit and link them together in spider web like fashionGameplay have you hack-and-slash your way through waves of enemies, while dodging and keeping your eye on your dash and special meter to get you out of tough situationsThis game has tons of repetitive battles as you grind for progression. There's even a time limit to prolong the game's length. You cannot progress through main story unless you lower the time limit by playing side missions which are old levels with different side objectives such as beating it within a certain time, collect certain items, doing an escort mission and/or saving a random VIP NPC. Along the way you build up exp and gain loot to help you level up your character and weaponsThe game is very loot based as you are constantly collecting materials for armor and weapon craftingThere are very nice final blow animation where you can slice an enemy arm clean off. Cool a couple of times you see it, but it gets old as they introduce new fodder enemies very slowlyYou are part of a party of 4, but you only see them during missions when you don't initiate battle like they're interns shadowing you offscreen which makes you loose a sense of comradery. It makes sense in a gameplay perspective i guess as don't want to get in a way of what's happening on screen, but most of the time you don't feel like they're there, especially when you fight enemies that are of higher level than youThere are no English dub, but are Japanese subtitles Sometimes there's Japanese voice acting during battles with no subs, guess you assume it's not mission or story related and just random banter. There are tons of journals entries you can read, but it feels like filler to the already uninteresting storyOverall, good game if you're into loot heavy repetitive gameplay and just want to turn off your mind and go on auto pilot most of the time. If you like the art style and combat, and want a more in depth story I'd pick up Odin Sphere Leifthrasir instead
