microSD Card Hard to Access But Looks Great!

microSD Card Hard to Access But Looks Great!
I bought this to upgrade from a regular 3DS XL. This model comes with beefier computing power, improved 3D, and a few design changes. It utilizes microSD cards as opposed to full-sized ones, so be aware of that. A 4GB microSD is included inside the system, but if you want a larger one I recommend upgrading immediately, as it is simpler not to transfer later. I believe the maximum size it accepts is 32GB. It is very annoying to access the microSD and is the reason I knocked off a star. My sister bought one of these (in black) when they first came out and immediately damaged the system getting the back plate off, and had to buy a whole new system because of it. Nintendo tells you to use the stylus as a pry-bar to pop the back case off but I couldn't get that to work. I just had to pop it off with my fingers, which was harrowing and I could tell- it would be very easy to accidentally break it. Be careful and don't let your kid do it. There are also tiny screws that require a precision screwdriver. I happened to have one as I work on computers, but not everyone does. Anyway, if all goes well, you won't have to access the card often (or possibly ever) but still. Not a great design choice. The screen resolution looks much clearer than the old model, as well; that was something I was not expecting. EDIT: Apparently, Nintendo changed the top screen to IPS on the New 3DS XL. It shows! It looks amazing. Note: this is for the XL model only. The improved 3D really is so much better. The 3D was barely usable on the old models beyond a couple seconds of "Oh huh, cool," then shutting it off again. I may actually play some games in 3D now! The case color is also fantastic. It does not have a matte finish, so it collects fingerprints, but since the color is light, it isn't terribly noticeable. It has a yellowish sheen when the light hits it right too. Just great. It says so on the box but it DOES NOT come with a charger. If you don't own one already you MUST buy one separately. They are about $15 from Nintendo I think. Also! This system comes with a game pre-installed. If you are upgrading from an older system and perform a system transfer, you must re-download the game from the Nintendo eshop. It will not prompt you automatically to re-download it, you must do it manually, but it is a free download.I want to make a note that as of right now, it is unnecessarily difficult to purchase one of these systems. The Amazon retail price is $199.99 and you should not pay any more than that. Nintendo products in particular have long had a problem with resellers or "scalpers" purchasing mass quantities of their products and selling them for much more than MSRP and unfortunately, this is no exception. Amazon has been opening this product for purchase for random 6-8 minute intervals around 2-4 times per day. It was incredibly difficult to get an order in for this. You might try waiting and seeing if this gets restocked in any notable quantity, because it is genuinely not worth the $350+ price that resellers are charging for it.TLDR; Be careful if you need to access the microSD card and don't pay far over the MSRP of $199.99. Great looking system and plays games smoothly. DOES NOT COME WITH CHARGER.
