    Good For Beginners
Let me start by saying I'm a beginning Drone Pilot. Never flown a drone in my life. This drone is extremely light weight and pretty self explanatory for a first flight. I was flying it in about 10 minutes after taking it out of the box and quickly glancing at the instructions (which are obviously translated from another language so sometimes it's a bit difficult to understand). My thoughts/advice:1)Learn about trimming a drone before flying: this drone requires a lot of trim adjustments, I think because of the weight. I believe it said in the description it was ok in wind. I'd disagree. The slightest breeze will carry this drone out of your control. Watch a youtube video on how to trim a drone (you can find several on youtube for this exact model too). Also, read the directions as the LCD display has the trim adjustment displays in off locations.2)The camera isn't great: if you're buying this for the camera, look elsewhere. All the photos/videos look like they have a blur effect on them. Low MP=not clear shots. They aren't horrible for a weekend warrior hobbyist, but if you want clear HD videos and photos, I'd get another drone with a higher MP camera. I would almost doubt that this has a HD camera like it boasts it does. Photos look like webcam photos from the early 2000s. I posted a picture I took from about 100+' up.3)If you buy it, buy the package with all the extras: the battery that comes with the drone lasts at most 7 minutes. So with the three batteries you'll get about 20 minutes, and that's with no video or photos, just flying it. Photos/videos will take more battery time. Plus if you run it with the prop guards, landing gear, and camera attached that's more weight that'll cut into your time. Also, it's nice to have the backup propellers and the card reader, multi-charger etc.End of the day, it's not a bad drone, but I have nothing to compare it to either. If you were looking for something for a true beginner, I'd say go with it. The price is right for a beginner, as I've brought it down to earth and crashed it several times and it bounced right back.

I loved it! This is my first drone and it`s easy to learn. Totally worth the price. This pack could have only one set of spare props and one card, but the batterys and their quadruple charger is great. I got about 30 minutes of flying time with all 3 fully charged and that was using the camera. The camera isn`t what you get on a 1200 dollar super-drone. I`m only 11,and the box says 14, but this toy is way too easy to fly to even be 12, in my opinion. Ignore the bad reviews, they only happened because there was a mistake in the building of the drone, and the 7 minute flying time is only with 1 battery and full camera use. Also, I understand that the camera isn`t the best, but for 60 bucks, this is great. The drone is actually pretty stable, and the unstability problems that other people have are manufacturing errors, wrong usage, or winds at higher elevations. The drone goes about 200 to 300 feet away, though I was afraid to go too high in fear of breaking it, but I could get 80 feet, easy. Some people complain about the flips, but it`s either a) manufacturing errors, b) the camera is on the quad, or c) tbe battery is low. The buttons next to the screen aren`t buttons, but everything else should work. One of the few problems is that I can`t seem to change modes, even after watching YouTube and consulting the manuals. Also, I can`t see the difference between the high and low speed modes. I want to note for buyers that that this is the new x5c, not the old, unstable one. The drone is kind of small, but I don`t reccomend this for indoor use (unless you want to crash a lot), but for use in a large field because this is light and speedy. Finally, if you already are an expert, don`t buy this because this is a beginner drone. In conclusion, this is an exellent drone to buy if you are a beginner or intermediate. It`s more than you expect.

I'll begin by saying I'm very new to this. I picked up a Hubsan X4 and this quad. I knew that the Hubsan would be a challenge because of it's size. Six hours later I could hover thew small Hasban. It was now time to try the Syma. It flew beautifully. Control was precise, without noticeable overshoot. After becoming familiar with the Syma indoors, I took it outside to a small, sheltered grass covered spot to practice. After flying it within the safe, confined area, I felt brave enough to send it up. It went up and up and up. I was terrified, the quad was now in peril. It was no longer safe and sheltered. It went up about 75 feet. Then it got caught in a breeze. Corrections were easy, the SYMA handled the breeze (a hurricane for me) easily and confidently. There was more than enough thrust available. I did shoot some video of my inaugural flight. Even in my inexperienced hands, and in the presence of a breeze, the Syma hovered nicely. If I did this right, a short video clip is attached. The video would have been longer, but the battery was just about dead.

About thrust, it's really something. Once off the ground, the throttle goes back, I can hear the rotors slow down considerably. There is power to spare. Along with the video there is audio. This seems a bit pointless, but it did serve a purpose. I could listen to thrust applied for altitude. The audio did add a sense of "being there". While experienced pilots may laugh at this, it added to the experience of my watching my quadcopter climb above the rooftops.

The Syma is a beautiful piece of technology, especially when the price is considered. Video quality is more than good enough for me. Video looks fine on my 50" flat screen.

The quadcopter has been subjected to a few crashes, one or two of them a bit scary. The Syma remains undamaged.

I'm a lifelong photographer who is ready for a new challenge. My goal is to get good enough to send a $1500 flyer up in the air. The Syma will teach me flight basics, and the ins and outs of aerial video. This Syma is a great place to start.

Why four stars? It's the battery door. The plastic is really flimsy. That is my only complaint.

I purchased this from Boom Shop. Packaging was good, delivery was prompt. This is the genuine version 2 quad.

    Cheers

I purchased four of these for my grandsons for Christmas. One they wouldn't allow me to review because It wasn't a verified purchase. Don't know what happened there but I did order it a couple of days later than the first. Anyway these things are extremely durable and very easy to fly. I do have some concerns about wind resistance though because they are light weight but they perform beautifully and respond quickly to the controls. I was very impressed with how they hoover. very little drift and easy to compensate for. I have had a few in the past where hovering was out of the question. The battery seems to last well into the 6-7 minute range which is good but I would order extra because these are so much fun to fly. I love the ease with which you can switch out the battery. Just flip the lid to the compartment, disconnect the cable and your ready to put in another. This can be done in under 30 seconds. The camera was another surprise for me. I wasn't expecting much based on past experience but the pictures are beautiful as well as the video. Get one you'll love it.
