I no longer need to freeze my kids water bottles from the night before. Just some ice and top with water in the morning. They’re good on water all day in school.

Using Your Stainless Steel Water Bottle
Chill out. When figuring out what to fill your brand new water bottle with, steer clear of hot drinks and stick with cold liquids only.
Under pressure. When you're on a flight or taking a summer road trip, pressure builds up in your water bottle due to high altitude or really hot temperatures. In these situations, twist the water bottle lid open a little bit to relieve that pressure, then reseal the lid before you use it.
Do's and don'ts. We don't recommend carrying filled water bottles in your bag while on-the-go (it's safer for your cell phone this way). Also, keep your water bottle out of the microwave and the freezer.

Can’t do without a Contigo leakproof drinking thermos
I have purchased three Contigo thermos, the fist was a 24oz quick release sipping thermos I had had for over a year and was the only container I drank my filtered water from. Sadly it was taken from me by TSA at the airport and the option of keeping it would have caused my missing the flight so as soon as I got to the gate I opened my Amazon app and searched my orders for the Contigo and luckily it was available to reorder and was delivered to my destination the next day. I obtained a third (one with a straw 20oz) to use on my motorcycle. I like the quick release sipping better then the pop-up straw but they both keep my water very cold for a very long time. I fill my 24oz (from refrigerated filtered) at night and bring to bed, in the morning it is still quite very cold. No matter the size a Contigo feels great in the hand and very easy to drink from. I wouldn’t recommend hot liquids for either as the steam builds pressure and may compromise the mechanics of the Contigo thermos, but they may have pressure release valves, best to consult with the instructions on it. Take care of them and they will be leakproof for a very long time, after 3 years my 24oz sipping would take about 2 days to empty if laying on it’s sipping side down. So yah I would say it’s still pretty much leakproof.
