Fun easy game “STRATEGY” for young kids
My 11 yr old and I played this game and really enjoyed it. It was easy to learn and by 3 games in a row and we had the strategy down. I was looking for a game that made my kid think the game through. We were able to play 2 player as well, by ghosting the other pieces as stand in. Took about 30 min. to get through one game. The pieces are nice looking see through. Sit on the board by falling into place. The game is GREAT and FUN!!!Score 5⭐️ For the game itself, but 3-4 on packaging.* Downside: the quality is a bit cheap. I had read reviews the board is smaller, after playing... I wish it was bigger especially if you’re playing more than 2 players. It’s too small. The board was also a hard plastic that I can see it cracking over time. And it was somewhat warped, where a few pieces didn’t snap in good enough. Doesn’t have an official “box” that it’s stored in. Just the packaging. That’s weird to me. The game is fun enough I would have gladly paid $10 more for better quality of storage box and larger area board. Also thank you to the reviewer who warned not to pay more for $$$ Deluxe version since it’s the exact game.

My 8 year old son came across the Blokus game during a week at math summer camp. His group played this game almost every single day. He could not stopping talking about his games and his results of what happened and why it happened. He kept begging us to purchase this game so he could play and challenge us and his friends. It was super surprising that he wanted a board game so bad because all the kids now a days just want games that revolve around some type of electronics. We have never heard about this game before and did some research and found such glowing reviews about it. This game is really great and suitable for any young elementary school kid and up. It certainly does promote healthy brain activity and deliver friend competition to keep the mind sharp. My son is always excited to play anyone in a quick game of Blokus especially against me or my wife, and the amazing part is that he definitely beats us more than we beat him. It gets all of us super competitive and thinking about game strategy all the time. I see that there has been a lot of negative reviews and complaints on Amazon lately but the game that I purchased seem like it was standard size and came with 84 total pieces. I have nothing but positive things to say about this amazing game. A MUST ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION OF BOARD GAMES!!!

Tetrus on a game board. Really easy to learn, best with four players but can be slightly modified to play with two. Taking turns, each person starts in a corner then places each subsequent piece so it is touching by only a corner of the a same coloured piece. Really easy to show visually, a bit tricky to try to describe. Pieces of different colours can touch anywhere but the same colours can only touch on corners. As you play, try to block the other person from being able to place their tetrus shaped piece. Very good pattern recognition for young children right though to adults. Visually an attractive game. However, once pieces are lost, the game becomes unplayable. The game can take a little while to get going before it becomes really interesting. Can be a while between turns if someone is having trouble finding a spot to place their piece. Still it's quite to play and really appeals to lovers of the computer based tetrus. Good for the whole family, although kids younger than 8 will need help towards the end when the play gets a little trickier.

I am the parent of two kids (one in particular) that love to play board games. All the time. Of all kinds.

Sometimes this is amusing, but sometimes it can get rather dreary. Often, the games that they want to play don't have enough strategy and mental work to them to be interesting to an adult. Either that or the games are exceedingly short and repetitive (or long and interminable).

But this game—this game is an absolute *blast*. I say that as an adult, It has a defined length (as many turns as the number of pieces) that turns out to be just about right—somewhere between 15 and 25 minutes. And it is simple and intuitive to learn, and colorful, too—great for kids. And it is also very much a strategy game and also a game that relies on skill (visual and tactical)—great for adults.

I actually love playing this with them, and get to feel the satisfaction of seeing them exercise their minds and grasp strategic concepts as they play it. Very rewarding.

A brilliant little game. Highly recommended.

Blokus has become a party staple in my house. I actually purchased this game a second time after accidentally leaving it at a friend's house and they loved it so much we just let them keep it.

Blokus is great for 2-4 people (it's more challenging with 3-4 people since the more pieces on the board the more difficult it is to get all your pieces to fit.) The main goal of the game is to get all of your colored pieces on the board. To play, you simply take turns putting pieces on the board. The challenge is that your pieces can only connect to your other pieces by their corners. So big part of this game is preventing your opponents from putting their pieces down by blocking the corners of their pieces. Hence the name Blokus. It is a really fun strategy game and I enjoy blocking my opponents.

The board fills up pretty quickly so this game is great to play to kill a few minutes of time. It won't last hours but you'll want to play again and again!

It says ages 7+ on the box but I played this game with a 5 year old who beat me and two other grown adults. So it can be a really fun strategy game for just about everyone.

I highly recommend giving it a try!

It's a fun and interesting game. Replayable as long as you don't play the same people repeatedly as people tend to do the same things over and over.

One of the most frustrating things for me as a parent is that pretty much every child's game or toy (that we have, anyway) requires parent involvement in some way, because there is some aspect of it that is too advanced for the children. This defeats the whole purpose of having children "go and play" so a parent can get some grown-up things done. (don't get me wrong--some toys are meant for learning and so parent involvement is appropriate; but I will also be honest and admit that there are also plenty of times when I need to do a grown-up things and want my children to be occupied with their play).

My 5-year old and 8-year old play this game together and it is terrific. The game does not require any reading nor any other parent involvement, so it is a truly independent game for them to play. We play it non-competitively, so the idea is just to fill up as much of the board as possible. This helps to avoid upsets from one or the other winning, and they just work together in a strategizing way.
