Half human, half dragon, all vengeance. No one said being half dragon would be easy, but Kate O’Connor’s life has gone completely off the rails. She thought she’d won the succession war between the daughters of the dragon queen, until a shocking betrayal changed everything. Now seven new sisters have joined the fray, a sinister government taskforce is gunning for her, and the Japanese queen has hit town, bent on snatching the throne for herself. Worst of all, her beloved son has been abducted. The shifter world has never seen a proving like this one, but then, there’s never been a dragon quite like Kate before. She’ll need her human ingenuity as well as her dragon magic to save her son and everyone she holds dear. The final moves in the deadly endgame take her from goblin caves to Japanese palaces as she races against the clock to snatch victory from the dragon jaws of defeat. Twiceborn Endgame is the third book in the urban fantasy trilogy The Proving.

Excellent ending to this trilogy. I couldn’t put the book down. It kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

Woah. A very satisfying conclusion to the series. All threads expertly wrapped but with the door open for future visits to an Australia that is run by dragons. I'd welcome that.

The first two installments in this series were good reads, but this conclusion is at a whole different level. Surprises galore and some excellent action scenes that had me feverishly turning pages. Certainly not a formulaic conclusion. I do read a lot of books like this and it frustrates me that I can usually predict with a high degree of accuracy exactly how these books will end. Not so in this case, Finlayson seems to take delight in stomping all over my preconceptions of where the story will go.

This series is a good read and I really enjoyed it.

This is the final book in The Proving trilogy and may contain some spoilers if you haven’t read the first two books yet.

This conclusion took unexpected re-directions. No matter how detailed the plans and execution thereof, something or someone else derails them which produces more challenges for Kate. It only strengthens her determination to succeed and to take risky action. The story contains multiple surprises, back stubbing (again!), action scenes and (as I personally predicted based on the “signs” in the second book) a love triangle.

And surprisingly, my anticipated ending moved in a total different direction. A nice satisfactory closing for the series, which I enjoyed

Each book of this dragon trilogy so far has been even better than the previous one and this final book did not disappoint at all. Fast paced, action packed and just plain hard to put down, the final dragon queen resolution for Oceania was masterfully handled complete with an unexpected final twist which managed to tie up an otherwise messy situation. An excellent read from beginning to end. Five star material!

A great ending to this trilogy. It was fast paced and tired up some story lines but I hope there are more to come with these characters as I have really enjoyed reading about them.

A great story set in an area I am familiar with, what is not to love about Australia, dragons and werewolves.

In my opinion this was the best book of the series. Gone was the over-worded narrative and lulls in significant content. I only wish the first two books were written with the fluidity of this one. The series was tied up nicely for the most part. I kind of wish I knew what happened to Jason. Also, some of the scenes that I would consider to be major, were just grazed over. Even if Kate wasn't on site for the happenings, I would've at least enjoyed it if she had gotten some sort of play by play from the characters that were present. I enjoyed this series and don't regret reading it.

I enjoyed this series very much. The ups and downs kept my interest. I'm looking forward to Garth s prequel.

Dragons are ruthless and Kate has had more than a little good luck on her side during her misadventures. In the end, a human/dragon blend may be the best thing that ever happened to the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great twists and dragons!

I found the book to be well written and having become a dragon Kate embraced it with her own humanity and love for her son. The plot was well devised and although gory at times it was in keeping. I have enjoyed watching Kate become stronger and more than a weak herald to the shifters throughout the books. The future looks interesting for her and her family and believable. Oh to be a dragon. But not one that was expected to kill her siblings in a proving. Great.
