An Easy Razor to Hold Onto

If like me, you have neurological issues that make it hard to hold onto small objects, the Wowe safety razor is the shaver you need. The handle is at least half again and perhaps twice the diameter of other safety razors I have owned. The Wowe razor provides a closer shave than other safety razors with which I have had experience. It appears that the design of the head allows more of the blade's edge to make contact with your face. From the beauty of its design to its heft, everything about this shaver says quality. Initially, I was disappointed that you had to remove the head to change blades, but after using the Wowe razor, I have no regrets. If you are considering this item, I would advise you to buy it now before the seller realizes the Wowe safety razor is worth at least twice the selling price.

I was absolutely stunned when I saw. Just how much more comfortable this razor is than one of those disposable cartridge razors. I think if anybody would actually try one on these safety razors, they would never go back.
And that is based on the pure comfort. But there is also the economic part. At 17 cents per blade, I can afford a new blade every day. And get the greatest shave possible.
Even after all these great things. Then came the most surprising of all. Even after I rinsed my razor off. Then shook the water off. Then I take the head apart to dispose the blade. And I see why those other razors hurt so. There is a big line across the blade of my gooey beard. That even though I rinsed my razor off, and shook it, and rinsed it again. This gooey stuff was on that blade like tar. So this stuff was always filling up my cartridge razor blades. But the way this razor is designed. There is no 'filling up'. So the shave is smooth all the way through. I only wish I discovered this 30 years past.
I thought I'd try a BUTTERFLY safety razor. For the convenience of changing the blade faster. And although it was a good idea. It is just not a good result. I tried two of them, by different companies. And finely came back to THIS razor. it is the best.

Works well and cuts down on environmental waste

I bought this a few years ago to try and cut down on waste from disposable razors. This is my first ever straight razor so I can't compare it to other brands, but I like this one. It's easy to use, blades are cheap, and I get a closer shave and less ingrown hairs than with multi-blade plastic ones. It doesn't have a sign of rust on it after 3-ish years (the water where I live rusts EVERYTHING). After use, I take it apart and dry everything before putting it back together and storing it. Takes maybe a minute to do that. The only draw back is that it takes longer to shave because you work in short strokes and go over areas a few times, vs. multi blade plastic ones where you tend to do one long swipe. I also love the bamboo handle and it has never even attempted to slip out of my grip. Definitely worth the money.

The razor is a very good weight, seems to be made of great materials. I would caution the buyer not to use the blades that come with the razor, though. I received Victory blades. Two of them were dull and pulled my hair and skin immediately out of the package. The other three lasted nearly 3/4 of a shave before pulling hair and skin. I did install a Super Max Blue Diamond DE blade, and it was the smoothest shave I've ever had with any razor. I'm checking out other brands, because I'm sure there are many great ones! This razor performs very well with a sharp blade!

Update 2 Oct 2019: After more than a year of using this every day, the screw that is part of the head which the handle screws on to broke. I have always taken it apart after each use to dry out the blade, the head and the screw. It never cross-threaded or gave me any issues. Not a bad product, I was just hoping it would last a few years.

I've been working on swapping out everyday items for more eco-friendly alternatives as I finish things up, so when I was about to run out of my regular razor heads I started looking into alternatives and the safety razor seemed to be the way to go. This is a beautiful product and I watched some youtube videos on using safety razors before shaving my legs for the first time with it because I was a little nervous about using it. The first time turned out great, but every time I used it afterward I seemed to nick myself. You have to be very careful about angle and pressure when shaving with this style of razor, rinse frequently, and use a lot of shaving cream. Therefore, it's a pretty time consuming shave. I've found that if you can sit in the bath with some water this is easiest--you don't have to run the water the whole time so it's more eco-friendly, the water is right there to rinse off the razor, and the running water doesn't wash off your shaving cream, which was a problem for me before. I found myself to be a bit more patient and get a smoother result while sitting as well. However, it's a production and a time suck no matter how you do it, so I was only shaving about once a week which really limited my clothing options. I also found that I couldn't shave two days in a row as it was irritating on my skin and the single blade wasn't able to pick up such short stubble. There were also parts of my legs like my shin where it didn't do a great job because it couldn't contour around the bone. I read that these parts can rust if not cared for properly, so I took my razor apart after every use and let dry on my counter, which was space consuming and added an extra 30 seconds to my shaving routine. I did not having any problems with rusting, however.

After getting tired of this, I ordered an epilator and have been using that fairly happily ever since. Not as smooth as shaving, but easier and the results last longer. I still have my razor and use it for special occasions when I want super smooth skin, but I found it too much of a hassle for such a large body area. I'm sure it's different for men who simply use it on their faces and necks. I will say that I had much less irritation on my underarms when using this vs. traditional razors though!

No more disposable razors for me. I was scared at first thinking I would cut myself, but with due care it's a breeze to shave with and works well. I've had the razor for months, shaving about 1-2 times weekly and haven't needed to change the blade yet. The handle has good weight and switching blades is easy - helps that this one came with several replacement blades to boot! It does not come with a carrying case, however I use the little box it came in. After each use I clean and dry it and pop it back into the cardboard box for easy storage. Highly recommend!
