Back in the early 1960's, 1962 to be exact, I started out with Nikon and Prime Lenses. In later years the Zoom lenses started to emerge and were very sluggish even after good auto focus and lens stabilization made a great showing, and became a 100% better with the DSLR's over time. The day arrived after 50 years or so with 35mm film & FF DSLR's that I took the chance on Olympus and their new M4/3 EM1's and a fast expanding start-up series of a PRO Lens Line-up. I was completely taken in and now, seldom use my vast collection of Nikkor Lenses and camera bodies from my first Nikon F through to the F6 and D4, all safely put away as not to gather dust! I now have all the Olympus Pro-Lenses and last April 2017 purchased the first of the new PRO f1.2 Line up, the 25mm f1.2 PRO. The Wow Factor is all I can say for now. After becoming a Zoom-Lens-Junkie in the new Digital age I have forgotten how really good it is to use a really magnificent Prime Lens! The Olympus 25mm f1.2 is well thought out,Top Cabin build quality but bottom line is that the image quality (IQ) is there and this ignited a new love affair for using a Prime Lens again. I now own 2 EM1's, a EM1 MKII and a (PEN-F, just for fun and the sense of retro for a ole' 35mm film photog, LOL). I just received my new adventure and add-on today, my new Oly 45mm f1.2 PRO and next week, Jan 23, 2018, my 3rd Oly f1.2, the 17mm f1.2 PRO Lens. If these two latest PRO Lenses are half as good as my 25mm f1.2 PRO Lens, I will be blessed. I am pleased beyond words and photography has become more fun again and the images I am acquiring please me, myself and I... Oh, and a few others as well!! I am completely retired, do not work or need to work again for a living, every day is Saturday and love to travel with my love of 54 years, in a 40 ft Alfa SeeYa Motorhome, stocked full of Olympus Camera Gear and Lenses and just enjoy what I see and capture a bit of light as we go along. Life is good and so is all of my Olympus Gear, Cameras and Lenses!
Okay, questions are, 1."Is Olympus Gear The Best Ever?" (YES), 2. "Is The PRO Line-Up Top Cabin?" (YES), 3. "Would I Recommend Olympus, their EM1, EM1 MKII, PEN-F and ALL the PRO Lens Series? (YES) 4. "Do I Own and Use All The Olympus PRO Gear?" (YES)!!
Have Fun, Keep Shooting and Enjoy Your Prime PRO f1.2 Family of Lenses

Before Olympus 25mm f1.2 lens, my everyday lens was Panasonic 25mm f1.4. Panasonic 25mm f1.4 is an excellent lens. Though in my opinion, Olympus 25mm f1.2 lens offers sharper pictures wide open and it's weather sealed. The cool thing is that at f1.2, this lens is pretty sharp, has a 3D pop in the pictures and yeah bokeh is super smooth. The lens is fast in focusing too.
There are only 2 issues I can think of -
1) It is an expensive lens. The thing is that this is a quality lens, weather sealed (no need to worry about rain, snow), super fast f1.2, fast focusing with amazing picture quality. The focal length is a very useful for everyday pictures. You can use this lens for years and cherish the pictures this lens will take. For me, that justifies the price.
2) It is bigger than other primes with similar focal length. I think I can live with it. It is certainly much bigger than Panasonic 25mm f1.4. I was worried that Olympus 25mm f1.2 would be heavy, though it doesn't feel that heavy to me.
Anyway, I will say again. This is the best everyday prime lens for m43 in 2016 if you can afford this lens.

Image quality and Build quality are both exceptional. The 1.2 aperture helps throw the background out of focus in a way that I cannot achieve with my 2.8 zooms or even my 1.8 prime lens, but the image is also very sharp with any items that fall within the focal plane. The lens is solidly constructed and I LOVE how it includes the manual focus clutch to lock focus with a simple tug on the lens.
Anyone that wants to get a 50mm (full frame equivalent) focal length lens would do well to consider this bad boy at the top of the list.
