Product Description
Product Description
The fun starts with Spinnyos YOs, a whole new spin on defying gravity, where kids decide how they will ride! What are YOs and what makes them go They’re cool, round things that love to spin fast, and love to spin slow. “How do they stay on track” kids ask as they play. It’s ‘magic’ of course! (That’s what you should say.) When preschoolers take their YOs for a ride on the Giant YO-ller Coaster set, they spin, they slide, they go upside down and ‘round & ‘round & ‘round & ‘round. Mix up the action with 4 different tracks, adjustable ramps, tunnels, dips and loops that stand over 2 feet high! Kids just load up their YOs (2 are included) on the Launcher and flip the Switcher to choose which track the YOs take, how fast or slow they go, how high they jump, and where they exit down below. Will they send their YOs flying out of the Bucket’s trap doors and onto the Wire Walk Or send them spinning down Spiral Street and through the gravity-defying loop-de-loop at the bottom Or will they choose the Magic Dipper with its exciting, in-and-out bucket drop Or maybe kids will send them spinning down the long slide, off the ramp and CRASHING through the barrels! That’s up to kids to decide—and spin it a whole new way every time they play. Be sure to listen for wacky sounds and music all along the way. How do YOs stay on the track Well, it seems like magic, but actually, there’s a kid-safe magnetic axle inside each YO that attaches to the metallic edge on the track. Two YOs are included, but kids can add more if they like. They’re so much fun that once kids start spinning ‘em, they won’t want to stop. (You won’t either—try ‘em and see for yourself!) They’re YO-tally awesome!

From the manufacturer
Kids are YO-tally in control of 2 ½ feet of spin-tastic, gravity-defying fun
The Spinnyos Giant YO-ller Coaster set lets kids put their own 'spin' on the fun, choosing which way the YO will go each time – down the Wire Walk, Spiral Street or long slide, through the Bucket or in and out of the Magic Dipper. They can control how high the YOs jump and how fast or slow they go. Kids also decide how the YO will exit down below – with loop-de-loops, shoot-off fun or even barrel-crashing action. There are two YOs, a YO Launcher, Track Switcher, four different tracks, three crash barrels and adjustable ramps to change up the fun each and every time kids play.

Set comes with two YOS, but kids can add more anytime. (Sold separately.) YOs store right on the toy to make clean-up fast and easy.
Fast track to development
By placing the YOs on the Launcher and flipping the Switcher to choose which direction they’ll go, kids are learning that their actions make exciting things happen – a great lesson in cause & effect. They’re also exercising fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination. Plus, thinking & problem solving skills are being fostered as kids figure out which tracks and ramps send their YOs where they want them to go – and how to make adjustments to speed up or slow down the YOs!

Age range is a little awkward. It's 3 and up, but really the entertainment factor begins around a year and maybe fades by 4. The problem with that is it's difficult for a one year old or toddler for that matter to line up the spinnyo on the track without some hand eye coordination practice (hence the higher age bracket, I think). Our youngest was 11 months old when his brother got it. He keeps wanting to play with it, and taps the yo's on the track then let's go, so the yo falls to the floor. He's beginning to understand the goal, just can't get it quite yet. He also pulls up on it, which makes it too over and he falls backward hitting his head on the floor (our downstairs isn't carpeted). We'll be moving it up to the playroom so he lands on the carpet because he isn't going to to stop being interested in playing or pulling up any time soon. (So just be aware). His brothers like to set things up to be knocked over as the yo launches off the bottom. We had all the neighborhood kids over for hot chocolate after sledding, and they ranged from 11 months to 2nd and 3rd graders. They all had fun checking it out, I was surprised the older kids were so into it. But the ones using it most were definitely 3-4 years. The little ones watched the whole time, catching (or fetching) the yo's as they launched off the ends.
This is not complicated to assemble if you look at the directions, just a little time consuming.
The kids don't even know that it takes batteries! We never put them in. It's fun to watch, it doesn't need sound.
It's not necessarily boring, but older kids are going to send it down each track and then probably move on, maybe come back later. The little ones who have trouble getting the yo on the track are the ones who have the most interest, but not the coordination to get the full value of it. If a child expects battery operated, motorized, light up, sound effects, etc then they probably won't be as amazed with the neat tricks this kid powered toy can do.
Instructions are super simple to follow. The only part I sort of struggled with was how to place the purple basket which became clear by simply looking at the picture on the box.

there are about 5 different pathways that the spinnyos can go down...my older kids figured out all the gadgets within the first time playing with it and showed me all that it could do...since they have taken robotics class and naturally love to play with magnets and build things, this toy, although geared for younger kids, was irresistible to them! like i said, everyone plays with this everyday...
one review i read said it is really big, but not in my opinion...the tallest point, the red part, is about 30 inches, the same height as my 2 year old...it's about 20 inches wide...it could fit into a corner of a room, no problem...but if you have a small space, i could see where it might look gigantic...however, since this toy is constantly played with, we keep it in the living room and isn't a problem for us...
i also bought an extension track and plan to buy more just to add to the fun...i hope they come out with more of these...this was an awesome purchase for our family! even my husband who complains about my shopping plays with this!

Christmas morning, my 2 year old, her sister (7) and her 2 cousins ( 5 and 3) were fighting over it. It was the star of the day.
It is very well made. I like that it has the dedicated space for rollers (it comes with 3), however I wish there were few extra rollers included as kids were fighting over whose turn it is.
The base is not wide enough so a small child looking for support when standing up will easily knock it off. Also the rollers are magnetic, a small child will have harder time pulling it off in case it gets stuck to the metal piece.
I would recommend this toy for kids 18 months and up.
As I said, I love the product but my kids don't take any more interest in it.
