Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

My recommendations to anyone thinking about purchasing this drone.
1. Fly it indoors until you learn how to control it.
2. When you take it outdoors do it somewhere where this is no trees. I made the mistake of flying it by the woods and lost control of it. I thought it was a lost cause but luckily my wife forced me to look for it. It was about 150 ft in the air when I lost control of it and watched it drop into the trees. Luckily it made it to the ground. I got too comfortable with it and honestly my confidence got higher than it should have.
The advantages of this drone is that practically everything is replaceable. Do yourself a favor and buy a crash pack, extra batteries, multi battery charger, extra propellers, and a extra propeller guard (cracked that the first day. It still will fly broken but needs adjustment and it causes the drone to drift). The propellers chip and break rather easy and I have had two of them fly off during a crash being nowhere to be found. I know it sounds like it breaks easy but the extra parts are really cheap. The crash pack even included an extra body. Another advantage is that the body of quadcopter is designed to absorb shock. I thought I broke the body on the first crash because one of the arms looked like it was coming apart. After reading the manual I found that this is meant to happen as a shock absorber. The click back into place easily. Also be sure to buy a AA rechargeable batteries with a charger. The control takes 4 AA batteries and the FPV screen will eat them up around 10 flights or so.
The controller has many setting which include a normal mode and expert mode. What this does is change the amount of power that is distributed to the the controller until you get used to flying it. In expert mode the quad will do flips in either direction forward and backward. Learn how to do the automatic calibration prior to flying the quad. I was trying to adjust the trim and other things without success. I read the manual and found the auto calibration. Also search for videos in you tube. There is a lot of info there as well. The LED lights on the quad look awesome but will eat the battery. You can turn them off on the controller if you chose.
Overall the quadcopter has been a lot of fun and is great for a learning tool. I honestly thought about buying an expensive one but am glad that I purchased this because if you have never flown one before the controls take some time to get used to. For a first quad I would say this is an excellent one to learn on just follow my advice. Remember there is no built in GPS, auto return, or automatic altitude control. I have read that some people install a GPS tracker on theirs which is really a great idea if you decide to fly it far. I would not recommend this for a child. My kids have been begging me to try it but I have to tell them no. This is definitely not a toy (states it on the box) and trust me the propellers sting when they hit your skin. I would recommend a cheaper quad for a child that has no idea what their doing.
Out of the box, the FPV functionality is not very good with-out some modifications. The camera points down, which is really bad for flying FPV. The camera has a very small FOV and that makes it even worse. Also, the antenna system stinks. They actually have a wonderful product but they put a $2.00 antenna system on them so you won't go far and almost no distance at all if the quad is not line of sight (LOS) with NO obstructions. If you fly into another room with a wall in-between your video will be gone.
If you want to train and learn proximity FPV flying (which is the very reason I got this) you will have to get goggles or use the built-in external video jack to output the video to a much larger screen. I had to modify the external video jack because it failed in short order when using it with every flight.
In the end, I modified this quad considerably. I re-oriented the camera so it faces slightly up and I attached a wide angle lens (jelly lens) and modified the antenna system and I use goggles. With the above modifications I fly the heck out of this thing and have a great time doing it. I am also getting very good at proximity FPV flying (albeit, very close to base - lol) and I feel much more confident about throwing one of my other $2,000 quads into the air now.
As for durability, I haven't had to replace anything except props (I use the prop guard).
Very happy I purchased this quad and I would recommend this to others (Provided you are willing to make some modifications).
BTW, if you want any decent aerial video, this is NOT the quad for you. The video quality is very poor but totally acceptable for FPV training and use (with mods). If you want to take aerial video, get the X4 h107c model or better yet, a cheap solution is the Syma x5c. The Syma is much more stable (cost the same but is bigger and slower) and captures great video at a very reasonable cost.
I hope this helps. Good luck and have fun. :)

When I first got it I was quite disappointed and afraid to use it, I barely flew it 10 times in a month, always afraid to fly it. I suggest going in the controller's setting menu and turning the beginner rates to 30% when you first get it and increase it later.
Second do not try to learn to fly first person view in the house, the camera lens has quite a narrow field of view and makes for a very difficult and frustrating learning experience. Outdoors is a little easier, but pick a day without too much wind and stick relatively close to the ground, no more than 6-10 feet off the ground. Pick a park with some grass, to absorb the impact of the inevitable crashes.
For the money it's a very good all in one deal, but the quad is not without it's faults. The biggest being that it is a little under-powered for it's weight, and the flight characteristics are a little bit .. unstable or skittish. I personally love it now after 60 or so flights with it, but if you were to ask me the same question 2 months ago, I would have been more hesitant.
Anyway, lets go from the start. the delivery time was excellent. a lot of people had issues saying it took ages, so i ordered and forgot. suddenly after around 4 days is arrived.
Issue straight out the box;
After putting batteries in the controller and charging up the copter, i was set to try it. full lift on the back end and none on the front. fitted the battery again thinking it was a weight distribution issue. same problem. so i switched the front blades for the back. but now the other end went up and nothin on the front. so it was the blades! really bad start. luckily they provide 4 spare blades so i replaced and it flew up into the air.... no idea why the original ones are an issue.
Camera quality;
ok i get it needs to stream the data, but the quality really isnt that good. and there is interference while flying. really nice to have FPV, but they could have improved the screen and camera quality. i'd pay more for that. i have not tried recording yet, so i want to say it will be the controller screen quality thats the issue, but i doubt it.
Flight;
ok i had one of those single blade helicopter toys and loved it. it took ages to master but maybe thats just me and my learning time. this one i actually feel might take longer. i thought with the previous experience it would help, but no. its hard. and there are a lot of crashes. with the spare blades provided and the guard you can fit, the copter is actually impressively resilient to bashes and crashes. the blades are already quite dinged up though after just a week. i am probably going to order a spares set for it soon.
Battery life;
For the copter it seems to be as described. about 5-6mins flight. the thing starts flashing telling you its low on juice and you have enough time to bring it back safely. i also have ordered spare batteries as the learning curve just takes forever if you can only fly 6mins every 1hr. charging for the battery is pretty quick and the usb charger has a little red light that goes off once off which is nice.
The battery life for the controller.... wow.... that dies quick! 4 AA batteries will last you a less than 10 flights! Thats a crazy amount of AA batteries you'd go through. i have a charger and rechargeable batteries luckily. You WILL need one unless you want to go through MANY AA batteries.
Controller;
Its a big boy. nice enough and fairy good quality. The control sticks have a nice feel to them for subtle adjustments etc. I only wish they had an option to turn off the FPV. Maybe they do and i have not played enough with it yet to find out.
Overall very happy with the little thing. a little pricey for what it is, but i enjoy it, albeit in short bursts.
(Will come back for edits and updates if i find its not a four star that i gave it)
