As a hobbyist woodworker, I didn't want to spend a fortune on tools, but I also didn't want to buy junk either. After doing some research, I came across this sander as a good budget friendly tool. While you won't find some of the features that you'll find on higher end sanders like variable speed options or higher amp motors, this sander definitely gets the job done. Between this and a 150 piece sanding disk bundle, I've been able to tackle lots of small projects without breaking the bank and have been satisfied with the results.

I love my sander! I use it for all my projects. It makes things so much faster! The grip is nice and gives me a great handle on the sander. I feel safe using it and in control. It may be loud but what power tool isn't. Love it would buy again!!

A good basic hand sander for smaller jobs. It can overeat if you use it for too long without giving it time to cool a bit, so care ifs needed in that regard. Velcro attachments for sanding discs which is also a plus. Very reasonable price too.

I am tough on orbital sanders. In the last 2-3 years I have blown through two Skil sanders and one Dewalt. The Dewalt just plain gave out; one Skil quit on me, the other Skil broke and spewed dust all over me every time I used it. I didn't want to spend 100 bucks on a fancy sander, so I settled on this Black and Decker. After 4-5 months, it's still going strong. No complaints. I got the extended warranty so I am covered -- I hope. The sander feels good in your hand. The price is right. Seems to be a solid product. (On another note, Skil customer service is awful.) One thing to consider: Black and Decker folks told me they no longer make replacement sanding pads for this model. There may be replacements available on Amazon -- I will soon find out. Most 4-hole pads won't fit this sander (the screw holes are 1 1/8 inches apart as opposed to the more common 1 1/4 inches).

I have wanted one of these sanders for years, but did not have a good use for one until now. This sander met my needs for an orbital sander for use on organic acid, pitted marble surfaces. I almost did not purchase it because of the problems other buyers mentioned about the unit. However, the sander worked hour after hour, wore out several sandpaper disks of various grits, wet and dry sanding, and it worked great. No complaints here. It has a place of honor, hanging in my tool closet, waiting for the next project.

Originalmente compré la lijadora para lijar una superficies de concreto que reparé. Funcionó de maravilla, es muy fácil de agarrar y controlar sus movimientos. Ahora estoy trabajando en un corte de tronco de madera bastante dura que estoy convirtiendo en una mesita. Igual no tengo ningún problema con la máquina, deja la superficie muy lisa y efectivamente son marcas de luna. El único comentario es que el filtro realmente no sirve para nada. De todas maneras todo en tu alrededor se va a llevar de un polvo muy fino, así que es mejor o trabajar afuera o adentro con una muy buena extracción de aire. Sin embargo es algo muy normal en los trabajos de madera, así que no culpo la lijadora. En resumen para ser una maquinita tan barata funciona muy bien, la recomiendo

I had a Black and Decker orbital sander for many years. It finally kicked the bucket after probably thousands of hours of hard use. I replaced it with the same one because of how well it works, how easy it is to find the proper sanding discs, and you can't beat the price. Don't hesitate to buy this unit.
