Had this knife for a while now and love it still! great blade and grip. the blade it self was very sharp right out of the box, the grip part is a good rubber material that covers the handle good. its thin and can be carried in a pocket easily. only problem i had was the sheath leaves a mark in the middle of the blade over time but has no effect on the edge of the blade what so ever.

At this writing, I have just acquired the knife. Initial impression is the knife is well made. The knife is extremely sharp out of the box. The sheath is more than adequate. There is no clip or securing system for the sheath so you would have to acquire a tek-lock or something similar. Knife is thin however the D2 steel is extremely tough and durable. This knife is designed for EDC and not to bang away in the woods. Based on what you receive and the price point of the knife it is an excellent value.

I have been in the Security and Protective Services for at least a little over 14 years. I also train in Filipino edge weapons, Combat Kali-Eskrima from overseas, and now as an instructor in California. I am a believer of constant training and utilizing your personal tools at an event of a confrontation/crisis. Especially using a blade as a last ditch tool for survival against an attacker with another weapon! When it comes to edged weapons, the best tool to your advantage is a fixed blade combined with speed, delivery, and surprise! Accessibility is a must, and with this H&K knife, you can do just that by placing it either behind the right hip of your belt, or horizontally on your left belt position for a fast left hand access in case someone is aiming to grab your firearm. Most reviewers complained about the sheath, I wear it daily at work with a suit on back right position (handle up) and it is comfortable while driving. I also take this thing for my morning jog and hikes on the hills and it stays on just fine. I used a 9 whole Tek Lok on mine and it work on the handle up position with two screws on the right side attachment! I didn't use any spacers but I applied some blue locktite and this baby is GOOD 2 GO! All in all this is a great combat/last ditch knife! One of the best shaped American Tanto, D2 steel, Made in the USA! Buy it.. And Stop Whining!!

Like many reviewers I also did not get a belt clip as is in the description so also ordered the Teklok clip. The knife is exactly what I wanted but doesn't lock in very securely. Overall happy but would have liked a factory clip and a more secure sheath.

Love the knife, and the price, but I also did not receive any belt clip for the sheath. Lazy cut and paste description I suppose. Will see if I can get one from the HK Plan D direct from Benchmade, or try a Tek-Lok or Spyderco G-Clip I guess. Nothing's ever easy...
