I chose these particular drip emitters for the medium size trees and shrubs in my yard. I chose 1/2 in tubing for the systems backbone. Then 1/4 in tubing to run out to the individual plants, flowers, trees, shrubs... There are two ways you can install them. You can install them straight into the 1/2 in tubing, like I did. The other way is to install a 1/4 in coupler into the 1/2 in tubing, then run a 1/4 tube to the plant. Then connect the drip emitter at that end. I chose this configuration because some people complain about the water pressure pushing the emitter off the end of the tubing.
+ Great price for a bag of them.
+ Very easy to install them. Be sure to purchase and use the Rainbird special tool to punch the proper size hole in the tubing. Also use the Rainbird tool to insert the emitters into the tubing. I personally dislike special tools, but they are only a couple bucks each. I saved a ton of money by doing this project myself ($250 total cost), so to me it was worth it to get the specialized tools.
+ Very happy with the performance so far.
- Nothing thus far.
I am very happy with the performance of these drip emitters so far. Some people have complained about them getting fouled with dirt. I don't expect to have that issue. Ill update this review as necessary. Highly recommend!!!
