It’s Not My Fault!: 100 Ways Project Managers Throw Others Under the Bus Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 9 ratings

Another failed project? You need these 100 project management pearls of wisdom to make the next one a success.

In
It's Not My Fault! I give 100 excuses that PMs use for why a project fails and who is to blame for the failure. But I take it one step further. For each excuse, I give a question to ask which will help the PM avoid the excuse altogether. So my mission is not to give spineless PMs an arsenal of excuses; it's to grow courageous project managers who know what questions to ask to avoid project failures.

From the Author

This was a really fun book for me to write. I've heard or experienced virtually all of the excuses in the book and have been amazed in my career as to how many PM's try to wiggle off the hook and blame others for failure. The buck stops with the PM; he/she needs to jointly accept accountability and demonstrate he/she has done whatever possible to avoid the failure.

Success for me in writing this book is that a project manager will relate to the failure statements and use the questions included as a checklist to help the project team avoid failures.

My hope is that you find
It's Not My Fault! helpful to driving successful projects.

Best -

This is an informative book and an easy read. Every aspect of Project Management is covered along with targeted questions to help to help resolve issues. I wish I had this book as a guide during my years in Project Management.

Very handy, fast-paced, easy to read book, Lonnie goes directly to the point and gives information on how to ask proactively questions to prevent scenarios which can tear down an entire project.

Simplistic questions to problems. Good insight, but there could be more breadth in the book. The prove active title is way too misleading.

I liked the grouping into common problem areas and the questions to ask so to avoid the mistakes again. Very comprehensive and accurate.

As usual, Lonnie gives strong everyday example with simple guidance to remind us that we can all choose to be more capable, and better teammembers.

I like it! 100 brief sections clearly expressed. It's almost like flicking through a recipe book - the one that catches your eye may not be the one you really need today but you'll bear it in mind for the future.
