Mud mask vs. bubble clay mask
So I wanted to try out clay and mud masks and I heard about this product through a review video on Facebook. After doing some researching I found that clay masks are for drier skin and harsh to sensitive skin (which I have. I can't wear a lot of products as they make me break out). Mud masks however are more for combination skin and sensitive skin but I love the idea of the carbonation so I tried both. I limited my test to the bubble mask's time limit of 5 minutes. Here are my results. I just put them on Facebook so I copied and pasted.Did my two 5 minute try outs. Only applied to my cheeks after doing patch tests on the insides of my elbows. Leaning more towards the Dead Sea mask. The bubble mask has a pretty smell to it but weird almost burning property to it. It doesn't burn like painful but like that point right before it hurts. Like you're expecting it to hurt and it doesn't. The Dead Sea mask just feels cool. It's not as hard to wash off as most people are saying. It actually comes off very easily because you're not supposed to let it completely dry on the skin. After effects:Bubble clay burning feeling dies off pretty quickly after you wash it off your face. Face feels pretty smooth afterwards but it wasn't that big "OMG I have baby butt cheeks!" I feel like the rubbing in of the bubbles after they have risen is counterintuitive since you seem to be pushing the dirt back into the pores. If you have open skin it definitely burns.Dead Sea: accomplished a way smoother feel than the bubble clay and didn't feel like it wanted to burn in the same amount of time. This one gave that "OMG!" Smoothness that I expected from the bubble clay. Also the mud mask brought pimples and white heads to a head in the 5 minutes I wore it. The bubble clay didn't. The mud mask is supposed to be worn for 15-20 minutes. But the differences in results are staggering in the feel of the skin. If you have open skin it barely burns. It feels like it's closing the wound actually. It's been 20 minutes since the test and the mud mask side is insanely smooth. So far the bubble clay really isn't as great as it was made out to be. It feels more like a self bubbling soap. I think the hype is the novelty bubbling property more so than what it actually does. Will update in 24 hoursUpdate: so I didn't wait the full 24 hours. I waited about 12 hours and decided to do a full mud mask. The mud made my skin feel crazy smooth and it really brought any hidden white heads to a good head. Overall, the mud mask has my vote hands down. I used regular makeup brushes to apply the mask.

After looking through the many raving reviews for this product I had to buy it. I have been using this product for the past 3 months to see if this product really worked like everyone said. So, after my first couple of uses, I noticed it was actually drying out my skin which never happens. I have oily to combination skin and products normally make me more oily. I thought that the drying effect was due to it exfoliating my skin or unclogging my pores, but I never saw a major change to my skin. I found that using rosehip oil after using this mask helped to balance my skin and that regime worked decently for me. Overall, there are better products out there that do a much better job at exfoliating/minimizing pores for the same price.

Pros: This product applies nicely. It can be used in the shower or whenever, and doesn’t give that uncomfortable feeling that some face masks do while they are drying. It removes easily with water and doesn’t require you to scrub your face with a towel to remove it. This product leaves your face feeling clean. I tend to have very sensitive skin, and this product did not irritate my skin at all.

Cons: This mask is not life changing. It’s an average face mask that will leave your face clean, but it doesn’t change your pores. It claims to be exfoliating, but it only ever dried out my skin, even when I used oils and moisturizers after.

The version of this product I have was purchased in early 2017 and is NOT the "blended in China" version. It has a manufactured date of November 2016 on the bottom with an expiration date of November 2018. So, I am very happy about the value of this product as it is a great mask.

After using, my skin is very smooth and the light redness that’s on my cheeks and sides of my face after washing it or when it’s irritated is gone.

I have a small amount of acne (usually on my chin and it flares up about once a month) and this product smooths the red bumps, thus making them appear smaller. It also gets rid of any dry patches of skin and dry parts of my acne. My skin feels very clean, smooth and soft after I wash the mask off. The mask itself has a pleasant, clean smell as well (even after a year of having the product). My face does not even feel like it needs a mosturizer after I use this, so if I have the time, I try to wait awhile before I apply my night time mosturizer and spot acne treatment.

How I’ve gotten the most out of this mask:

- wash (or even better, exfoliate) and use a toner on face before applying

- pat a warm cloth on face before applying to open pores and allow the mask to really get in and out draw any dirt/makeup/dead skin. I pat my face with the cloth that is been wet with hot water and then again with a dry cloth to make sure my face is dry when I apply the mask.
- apply with a clean foundation brush (gives a cleaner and more precise application as opposed to my fingers)
; a little goes along way and only a thin layer is needed, but as the product dries you will see where it was applied thinly - so apply it thin, but not too thin
- leave on 20 minutes

- directions suggest using a washcloth to remove but the most effective way for me to remove it is by washing it off in the shower; if I’m not showering right after my mask, I wash it off by splashing water onto my face and rubbing in circular motions or by using a soft and durable paper towel to keep from dirtying my wash cloth.

- apply a good moisturizer or night cream although this step may not be necessary as my skin is always left soft, but I can’t go to bed without applying one!

For the price I highly recommend this mask.

I have a medical condition called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and that causes ridiculous bad and sore acne like skin with excess oil. This face mask has really improved it, majorly. I've used it five times since I have purchased it and my skin is glowing, smooth and near enough acne free. This is a major life saver and also very soothing my skin. This is now my "go to" face mask. Thank you so much!

Good product, but I don't notice the same kind of immediate effect as I have with other masks. My skin is visibly clearer after use, but looks very dry and dull too. The mask may be used as part of a combo with other products to counter its negatives.

I bought this not know quite what to expect so the best I can say it that is okay.. although it does sting a bit when first applied. I can't say I have experienced what the claims state, such as reuction in pore size etc. Although it says it exfoliates I like my face macks to have some thing granular to add this and it doesn't. So neither terrible or excellent jsut okay..

Enjoy
