For those of you that say the picture is grainy or that the camera won't work your problem probably lies in your internet speed. I have TWC 100mbps internet and I have about a 1 second delay and it is yet to drop. I also have it connected via a wireless router, the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band Wi-Fi Gigabit Router (R7000) . On top of all of that I have it running through Blue Iris Full Version Supports Up to 64 IP Cameras which in my opinion is the best security camera monitoring system.
The instructions to set up the camera come in English, French, and Spanish. On one side it lists how to set up the camera using iOS, and on the other side it shows you to set up the phone using an Android phone.
Step 1: Take the camera out of the box and attach the usb cable. Then, plug in the adapter into the wall outlet so that the camera is now on.
Step 2: Go to the Play Store from your Android Device. Search for "Samsung SmartCam" and install the app. Open the app.
Step 3: Create a new account. Enter user ID, password, name and email, then click Register.
[The username and password created in Step 3 will be the username and password that you will use to log into your camera every single time from the Samsung SmartCam app]
Step 4: Tap "Wireless Setup" (or wired if yours is wired). Follow the on screen directions.
Step 5: Select your cameras serial number and click next.
Step 6: Select your home wifi network and enter your home wifis password. Wait for the LED light to turn green.
Step 7: Create a name and password for your camera. REMEMBER THIS PASSWORD AS THIS IS THE PASSWORD THAT WILL BE USED FOR BLUE IRIS!
Step 8: Select your time zone
Step 9: Enable motion and/or audio events
CONGRATULATIONS! FINISHED!
Now after logging into the app, I would click Setup at the top and then scroll down to change the video settings so that the camera defaults to High Resolution when recording. Then, go ahead and click on the Camera tab at the top. Next, I would click on the 3 dots and 3 lines to the right of your camera's name. From this screen at the bottom you have 4 options, Live, Event, Playback, and Setup. I would click Setup and then click General. From this location you can turn on/off Night vision, the display date, and turn on/off the status LED. Save your changes as the bottom and go back to the previous screen.
Next, I would click on SD Card. Most definitely have the "Use SD card" option checked. The camera comes with a 16GB Transcend micro SD card. However, I bought this one to upgrade SanDisk Extreme PLUS 64GB microSDXC UHS-I/U3 Card with Adapter (SDSQXSG-064G-GN6MA) . I saw on Samsung's web site that you can buy up to a 128GB micro SDXC card. If you decide to check the box for "Continuous Recording" be warned that it is continuous recording 5 minutes at a time. So if you want unlimited continuous recording this is where you are going to need Blue Iris.
Officially this camera is not supported by Blue Iris, but I made it work. Here is what you need to do. Open Blue Iris and right click the middle of the screen where the video feed would be. Scroll down to the 4th to last option and click add camera. From here you want to go to the tab labeled "video." For the device type you have 4 options to pick from. Make sure you pick the third one, Network IP. Then, click configure to the right. SEE THE SCREEN SHOT I HAVE POSTED! The screenshot will give you the correct configuration so that Blue Iris can find your camera.
At this point you can then change your Blue Iris settings so that the camera records at 30fps, 1080p continuous record, set alerts, record files in mp4 format, make a new video file each hour, and all of other goodies that come with the program.
I couldn't find a guide like this on the internet, but after much trial and error I thought that this should be shared with everyone.

I couldn't find a guide like this on the internet, but after much trial and error I thought that this should be shared with everyone.
Camera itself is good for the price. But their software - terrible.
Mobile app is outdated. Not very usable. Chunky and not fully functional. Two-way talking does not work for me. And I cannot record custom recording. It records empty file, and I cannot delete it after.
When I try to login through Web access, it keeps asking me to install Web viewer plugin, even though I have installed it a few times. It sits not work on every browser.
I bought this camera to watch my twins. I still have a few weeks before they come, so looking for better option than this camera. Any suggestions?
Pros:
The setup on my android phone literally took less than ten minutes. Downloaded the app, had to set-up an account name , password, connect the camera to my wifi, then camera password, then I had picture on my phone.
The picture looks great when set on high resolution.
You're able to set 'windows' in the visual area where you'd like motion detected. This was a necessary feature for me and seems to work really well. You simply go to the 'Configure a motion zone event' screen in the app and you can set three windows where motion is tracked. I need this because my cameras can see the street and I didn't want alerts every time a car went past.
NOT PAYING A SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE. I bought a couple of Lexar High-Performance microSDXC 633x 128GB UHS-I/U3 w/USB 3.0 Reader Flash Memory Card - LSDMI128B1NL633R to throw in the cameras. I've got the cameras continuously recording on high resolution and it looks like I'm keeping about a week of video on them.
They pick up sound fairly well.
You can turn off the status light if you don't want to draw extra attention.
Cons:
Trying to view the cameras or playback video outside the app, through the browser on a computer, seems a little terrible. It seems that you have to download and install a samsung plug-in, which a lot of people can't do at work, and it doesn't look to be supported at all by Chrome so I had think I was able to use Safari. Viewing in the app works very well for me, so I actually haven't tried this again since my initial bad experience.
The sensitivity on the motion detection is hit or miss. Sometimes I get an alert because a leaf twitched on the porch, other times someone has walked through the field of view without triggering the alert. This is more problematic if you set it up to only record when motion is detected. Since I've got it set to record continuously, the alerts are more for me to know which time of day I want to watch.
The video files appear to be stored in five minute increments. This is okay for being able to save only interesting bits, but just be aware that you may have to download a software app to splice all the recordings together, especially if you're trying to scan through large blocks of time while viewing on a computer. Believe they were .AVI files.
Tips:
I've now turned nightvision off because I've got the cameras set inside behind windows. When nightvision is triggered, the leds light up and all you can see in the video is the reflection off the windows so it's useless for me at this time.
The cameras come with a six foot usb power cord (somewhere around that). I needed more cord so I picked up a couple of these Sabrent 22AWG USB 3.0 Extension Cable - A-Male to A-Female [White] 10 Feet (CB-301W) .
