Works like magic citric acid
Love it. I used it to clean my electric thermal pot. There was some deposit on the bottom of the pot look like rust but it wasn't. I added 2 tablespoons of this citric acid to a full pot of water and brought it to a boil. OMG! The bottom layer of deposit has gone. The inside is shinny like new! I'm not kidding as I tried to clean the bottom with a non scratch scrub sponge but nothing came off. I gave it a try after reading online "how to clean an electric thermal pot." Forgot to take the before picture to make a case! Just look at the side vs. the center of the pot to see the trace of the stain/deposit.

Pssst shhhh it is a secret you cannot tell anyone I'm cheating on lemon with citric acid. Okay but seriously all jokes aside I am a sour taste freak here's what I've tried, sprinkled some on a salad and it gave it that extra bite and tanginess like lemon does, added a bit to a tuna salad and wow it is sooo good I love it

I tried it in my salad dressing mix 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese, Canola oil garlic and onion powder a little vinegar and instead of adding the usual lemon I put some citric acid in to the mix and yum my taste buds did a happy dance. This is my first time using this stuff but I am hooked and will definitely be experimenting more. I highly recommend this especially to people who like myself love sour flavor and tartness

Additional information this does as the label on my jar says have 2 % silicon dioxide aka Silica to prevent caking. I looked it up because I had no real knowledge of it in the definition it says that it is a chemical found in nature. It is from Canada, I added this so people who want to know those details have the info

Seems fresh

I've become semi-obsessed with lifestyle and cooking blogs and home, so needless to say there's an unending stream of new products being shipped to my house all the time. That said, recently I read an article praising all of the different uses of citric acid and decided to give it a try. I searched and searched online, and found so many brands that it was difficult to choose the proper one.

After reading the reviews (and also being familiar with the Ball Jar brand) I decided to go with this particular one. My first DIY project was making mozzarella cheese, and although it was my first time, I was shocked at how well the product worked. I followed a recipe from Epicurious, and I was really impressed with the results. My second project with the ball jar citric acid was an intense cleaning of my kitchen, as well as my dishes and again--I was really impressed with how well everything worked.

Now, here comes my one and only problem with this particular brand, the reason I had to give it four stars rather than five. I ran out of citric acid after only three different uses! I couldn't believe that it ran out so quickly. Because of this, when I ordered it a second time, I decided to go with a different brand,
Citric Acid Powder - Ultra Fine Pure Powdered Crystals - Natural Preservative Food Grade Quality (16 oz) . This particular brand worked in the exact same capacity, just as well for making rock candy and using the dishwasher, but it was a 1 lb bag in comparison to 7.5 ounces, and it lasted for months longer than the Ball Jar brand. If you order the Nature's Candy brand, it works exactly the same, but you'll save a ton of money by buying it in bulk. If you only need the citric acid for making cheese, and decide not to use it for all of its hundred other uses, then maybe go for the smaller version because you won't need as much.

This is exactly what I expected. It is the same brand and size, but slightly cheaper than in my local grocery store.
