This book is absolutely hot. Before I talk more about the book, I just wanted to add this is the first book from Cathryn Fox I have read and I can’t wait for the next instalment in this serial.

Hands On is a super quick read, which will leave you wanting more.

Danielle is a psychologist who is going to be teaching for the summer about sex. The problem being she has never had sex. When she sees her high school crush is back in town, she is hoping he will be willing to show her what she has been missing and more. The condition being this must be for two weeks only.

Jack is definitely a dirty talking alpha male. He is a famous football star who is recovering from a knee injury in his home town. When the girl he has always wanted (without any luck) in high school shows up at his garage, he couldn’t believe his luck. Especially when she is offering a no strings attached relationship.

I am seriously counting down the days till the next installment, to find out what happens next.

It’s not every day you walk into your local coffee shop and a few hours later your high school crush is asking you over for a booty call.

Jack Rider has a reputation as being a lady’s man, and why shouldn’t he? He’s panty dropping sexy and an accomplished pro football player. If the press is to be believed, he’s bedded a good portion of the women in the US and makes no apologies for having done so. Oh, Jack’s had his fun, to be sure, but when he’s unexpectedly and surprisingly approached by his old high school crush, Danielle Lang, he starts to think his definition of fun might be a tad bit off the mark.

Danielle Lang has a shiny new advanced degree, a new job that starts soon, and a deep-seated fear of what that job entails. In theory, Danielle understands the psychology of sex but teaching a classroom full of college freshmen about something she has zero practical knowledge of, is terrifying. Yeah, Danielle is a newly licensed counselor about to teach a class on sex and she’s a virgin. Between all the studying, the extra studying, and the lack of a social life, Danielle didn’t have much time for dating and she’s not quite the one-stand type. When her best-friend comes up with a plan to contract a sexual partner for a couple weeks, Danielle thinks the idea is insane, and then, Jack Rider walks back into her life.

Not wanting to look a total schmuck, both Jack and Danielle keep their true feelings to themselves until it is damn-near too late.

The Bottom Line: The Hands On series is so much more than just a series of hot, sweaty sex scenes!! Don’t get me wrong, there’s A LOT of hot, sweaty sex scenes but they aren’t gratuitous at all. There’s a real story mixed in here and I quite liked both Danielle and Jack. They get to know each other so well in such a short amount of time and it is in more than just a sexual manner. Each brings out the best in the other which makes the eventual HEA so very, very sweet!! If you’re looking for a super-quick, sexy read, I am all about recommending Cathryn Fox’s Hands On series.

Overall, I really got hooked from the first page, and love these two characters!
However, my ONLY complaint is the overall length of this book (installment). I really try to avoid these types of serial books, that make you die waiting for the next installment, which is in August! OK, I know that is not a long time, but to me this is torture!
The emotions of these two characters really come through, and feel very genuine and real, despite the length of this book.
It's really that good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me get first get this out of the way - this is a serial. It is the first of three parts. It also ends in a slight cliffhanger, though not a big one, but a cliffhanger nonetheless. You have been warned! Oh yeah, and it's also an erotic romance. :-)

I have to admit the beginning of the story did not start off well for me. Danielle needs someone to teach her about sex because she needs to teach a sex therapy course at the university where she works. She's being egged on by her best friend to find someone to teach her and according to her best friend "any guy will do". That whole advice from her best friend this was very cringe-worthy and left me thinking, one - I do not want a best friend like that and two - I should not be taking such bad advice.

The object of Danielle's desire is Jack. And the next cringe-worthy part which turns clumsy and awkward is her attempt at asking him for sex. I was uncomfortable reading it, which is probably kudos to Ms Fox's writing skill in making me feel that way.
Let's face it, Danielle is naive, innocent and in way over her head. She's also in reality a really sweet girl. She just needed to go about this whole seduction / sex thing in a very different way, which was to basically not pretend to be someone she was not. That did not sit well with me and I kept wanting her to come clean with Jack.

Jack, on the other hand, is a great guy. Poor thing, of course, is all confused by the mixed signals he's getting from Danielle but once he figures her out and gets her to fess up about what's going on, he takes charge and it's great from then on. Jack is one hot, sexy guy!! And he's also got a dirty, filthy mouth on him, along with a dominant, control streak. Yum!

If the initial discomfort and awkwardness puts you off, don't worry, it gets much better once Jack takes charge. In fact, it gets super hot. Oh yeah, super duper hot! That last scene with Jack? Phew! It's knock your socks off hot and ... well, I think I better not say more and let you find out for yourself how hot it is.

Now that we're over the initial bumbling around by Danielle, I think I'm going to enjoy the next installments of the serial as Jack continues Danielle's education.

Even though I bought and read this a while ago, I delayed publishing my review as it's a three part erotic serial and I was eagerly awaiting book two of the series. Hands On was simply a fun, sexy and entertaining read!! Sometimes, you just need a quick book to relax and unwind and Cathryn Fox provided her readers just that. Danielle Lang has dedicated her whole life to school in completing her Masters in Psychology. There was no room for romance in Danielle’s life since she was so focused in making a better life for herself after experiencing first hand what it was like living in the foster care system. With tuition loans that need to be paid, Danielle is forced into taking a job teaching sex therapy. Should be an easy job right to teach a bunch of students sex? Well here lies the problem, Danielle has no experience in sex. She’s a virgin. And so in order for her to teach about sex, why not cash in her V-card with an old high school acquaintance?
Jack Rider is back home after a crippling knee injury has him on the sidelines. While Jack awaits if he can return to the NFL, he runs into the girl that he always had a crush on. Danielle wasn’t like any other girls who flaunted their way into Jack’s pants and he liked that about her. He liked that she’s a bookworm and finds her innocence charming. So when Danielle invites him over to her place, he eagerly accepts. But when Jack arrives and when it comes time to have sex, he notices Danielle is nervous and that’s when she drops the bombshell that she is a virgin and she wants him to teach her about sex or she will find another male to help her. Jack doesn’t want Danielle to learn from anyone else beside him and so begins his hands on lesson with the girl that he never forgotten.
