3.0 out of 5 starsCant hold a 15lb turkey or even a 10lb ham!!

I went through two of these, the first one the motor blew out after two uses so I had a new one sent out to me. The sole reason for the purchase was to cook my thanksgiving turkey. I purchased a 15lb turkey just because I wanted to ensure that it would fit in the rotisserie. When I put the turkey in, the whole spit assembly would collapse due to the cheap plastic cogs at the end of the sits, It seems it couldn't support the weight. So I tried my 10lb ham instead with the same results, the spit would collapse and fall down onto the drip tray. I was very disappointing, I had to change my plans for thanksgiving last minute and I had hyped up all my guests who were going to come by because I told them I was going to rotisserie the turkey; they too were disappointing. I am a great cook so the turkey came out good either way, but I was really looking forward to "setting and forgetting it" Long story short I spent alot of time basting the bird in the oven, something I wouldn't of had to do if the Ronco could support the weight it says it could. I did not give it a terrible rating because when I used the first one before the motor blew out, I cooked a 6lb chicken one day and some pork ribs the next and both turned out fantastic. Because of these mixed feelings, I may try a Ronco rotisserie again but just not this model. I know many who have one and like it but have the standard one with the analogue dial. For me, two strikes were enough to say this higher end model with the digital timer isn't worth it, stick with the original!
