(No plastic in this salt) We carefully harvest it using ethical labor standards and sustainable methods from a mine and mill powered by two solar fields. And, because it’s mined in the USA, it comes to you with fewer food miles than any Himalayan, Celtic, Tibetan, Malaysian, French, Hawaiian, Irish, and Marine Sea Salts, all at a price that will keep Real Salt on your table for every meal. The only American Pink and Black Salt.

Is Your Salt Real?

There is a vast difference in the quality of salts on the market today. A quick glance at the ingredients label on most salts might surprise you! Many salts contain anti-caking agents and even dextrose (sugar). Others have been heat processed and stripped of their natural trace minerals. Real Salt brand sea salt on the other hand, is unrefined and full of natural minerals and flavor – the way salt was meant to be savored.

Where does Real Salt come from?

According to geologists, the Redmond salt deposit is the remnant of an ancient inland sea, probably part of what they call the Sundance Sea, which places the deposit within the Jurassic Period. Over time, the salt that settled at the bottom of the sea was trapped within the earth and then pushed up near the surface close to the town of Redmond, Utah.

The deposit occurs with over 60+ natural trace minerals which gives the salt its unique color, unique flavor, and numerous health benefits.  Because this deposit comes from an ancient sea bed, nature created the salt long before the earth experienced anthropogenic pollution and contaminants that are troubling our oceans today.

The Redmond salt deposit begins about 30 feet below the surface, covered by a layer of bentonite clay, which has protected it from erosion and from the possibility of modern contamination.

Is Your Salt Real?

About Us:

Real Salt vs. Himalayan and Celtic

We’re not trying to throw other companies under the bus and we don’t believe they’re trying to be dishonest; they simply might not know how to read their own analyses or we may have different approaches to interpreting them for the purposes of marketing.

Regardless of marketing spin, Real Salt is a complete natural sea salt. It is unrefined with nothing added and nothing removed, containing all of the minerals that nature put in place—all 60 or 84 of them, depending on who you ask.

Why we do what we do…

At Redmond, we’re passionate about wellness and believe nature has it right with products and people. Real products are rarely the idealized image of perfection that many have been led to believe. As with products, so with people. We believe people have a certain beauty born not of idealized image, but of natural uniqueness. We embrace real, and believe it to be the essence of life and the source of wellness of mind and body. This belief was the foundation upon which we’ve built the Redmond family of brands, including Real Salt, Earthpaste, and Redmond Clay.

About Redmond

By most standards, Redmond is a very different organization. In today’s business world, many companies exist around the idea that profit is the sole reason for existence, and that employees are a means to that end. By contrast, Redmond’s philosophy is that profit is the means, but that the end goal is elevating the human experience for both customers and employees. This is evident in Redmond’s business practices, its commitment to improving the community, and its promise to provide continual growth opportunities for its employees.

REDMOND Real Sea Salt - no more cramps, good taste, easy to pour container.

REDMOND Real Sea Salt - no more cramps, good taste, easy to pour container.
Well these reviews definitely convinced me to try this brand of "unrefined" salt. After discovering a video that salt, specifically Celtic salt, which is salt that isn't processed, demineralized, and additives (like anti-clumping agents) is added, may help with my mineral deficiency problems.Just to give a quick background, I mainly needed to find something that would help with leg cramping (every morning), despite drinking tons of water before and during the night. I've also tried several other mineral "supplements" like potassium & magnesium vitamins, multi-vitamins, pedialyte and other electrolyte powders, even gatorade (but I didn't want the sugar) and the Zero sugar only comes in limited flavors. Anyway nothing seemed to help and I also wanted something economical. So I decided to try this unrefined salt thing.I did find Celtic salt but at the time it was sold out and was pretty pricey. So since I had no choice but to find something else, I ran into this brand. Also this seemed to be an inexpensive alternative ($16 for 26oz at the time of this review). So I tried it, first using only 1 teaspoon into my 30 oz water bottle, drinking it a few hours before bedtime.Result:Basically instantly, that first morning I had no cramping and haven't had any since adding this to my water every day. They have completely disappeared, as compared to having them EVERY morning like clockwork. And to make sure it was this salt that was making a difference, I didn't do any different activities, drink, or eat anything different in my daily routine other than adding this to my water.I didn't mind the slight salty water taste, but I found adding a little flavor squirt (those tiny bottles of concentrated flavor) to the water doesn't change the effectiveness of the salt so now I add some flavor to my waters in addition to the salt. I also tried a little in my coffee and it adds something different to the taste, which I actually like. And any time I want salt on something I add this stuff.I also ended up buying some Celtic salt after they came back in stock just to see if there was anything different with the quality and there really isn't. I mean my leg cramping stopped so it's not like I experienced anything more beneficial using the "Celtic salt" brand. But if money isn't an issue I would say they both work equally well. The only negative I have with this brand is that there is a tiny amount that doesn't dissolve. I get tiny bits of crystals or grains that end up on the bottom of whatever container I put it in, but it's not a lot. It's just if I drink all of it I end up having a few tiny crystals in my mouth that I end up crunching with my teeth. And this is even after leaving it in overnight and still not dissolving. And it's not bad, just a little annoying.I even bought a grinder that ground this up to an even finer grain, but those tiny crystals were still not dissolving. But the fix I had for this is that I just leave a very small amount of liquid on the bottom and just dump it out. The tiny undissolved crystals seem to be heavy enough that they drop to the bottom and stay there. Which brings me to a credit to "Celtic salt", that brand seemed to all dissolve and not have the left over problem.I also usually don't recommend any "supplements" to any of my friends because most it is subjective. But I am truly convinced that this is what cured my leg cramping/dehydration problems, and now all my friends that complain about cramping or dehydration I give them a little sample of this stuff to try.It comes in this soft bag that you can pour out of easily, but I transferred it to a jar with a lid so I can just scoop my teaspoon in easier. I found this stuff clumps easily. So make sure to always keep it tightly sealed and stored in a dry place. So other than the insoluble tiny amounts of crystals left on the bottom of my bottle, I definitely recommend to try this brand, it works for me at least.

I like the taste and the minerals it has, with no additives. It does however, clump if it gets around moisture. Don't shake it over any boiling pot or even steaks on the barbecue. salt it before slapping on the grill (I speak by experience). This is not a fault, however. It is natural salt without additives, so that's how natural salt behaves. I prefer not getting a lot of crap added to it. I live in a dry climate, so I can't speak for how it behaves in a humid one. You may want to supplement iodine, as this has none added. It has trace amounts, but not enough. You can buy Lugol's online and add a drop or two to your baking and get it that way. Lugol's is much better for you anyway, than the iodine they put into regular salt.

I order this product to utilize a treatment protocol that is described by Dr. David Brownstein, Salt Your Way To Health. I have not yet implemented the protocol for the program of re-mineralizing our body. This will start today. However, I did use the salt product twice and I like it. It is not overwhelming and unpleasant such as the regular brand salts that we use. I would recommend trying this product. I highly recommend visiting the website and watching all of the videos. Also, look at Dr. David Brownstein Salt Your way to health and other videos recommending this product.

Just to give a quick background, I mainly needed to find something that would help with leg cramping (every morning), despite drinking tons of water before and during the night. So I decided to try this unrefined salt thing.

I did find Celtic salt but at the time it was sold out and was pretty pricey. So since I had no choice but to find something else, I ran into this brand. Also this seemed to be an inexpensive alternative ($16 for 26oz at the time of this review). So I tried it, first using only 1 teaspoon into my 30 oz water bottle, drinking it a few hours before bedtime.

Result:
Basically instantly, that first morning I had no cramping and haven't had any since adding this to my water every day. They have completely disappeared, as compared to having them EVERY morning like clockwork. And to make sure it was this salt that was making a difference, I didn't do any different activities, drink, or eat anything different in my daily routine other than adding this to my water.

I didn't mind the slight salty water taste, but I found adding a little flavor squirt (those tiny bottles of concentrated flavor) to the water doesn't change the effectiveness of the salt so now I add some flavor to my waters in addition to the salt. I also tried a little in my coffee and it adds something different to the taste, which I actually like. And any time I want salt on something I add this stuff.

I also ended up buying some Celtic salt after they came back in stock just to see if there was anything different with the quality and there really isn't.

And it's not bad, just a little annoying.

I even bought a grinder that ground this up to an even finer grain, but those tiny crystals were still not dissolving. But the fix I had for this is that I just leave a very small amount of liquid on the bottom and just dump it out. The tiny undissolved crystals seem to be heavy enough that they drop to the bottom and stay there. Which brings me to a credit to "Celtic salt", that brand seemed to all dissolve and not have the left over problem.

I also usually don't recommend any "supplements" to any of my friends because most it is subjective. But I am truly convinced that this is what cured my leg cramping/dehydration problems, and now all my friends that complain about cramping or dehydration I give them a little sample of this stuff to try.

It comes in this soft bag that you can pour out of easily, but I transferred it to a jar with a lid so I can just scoop my teaspoon in easier. I found this stuff clumps easily. So make sure to always keep it tightly sealed and stored in a dry place. So other than the insoluble tiny amounts of crystals left on the bottom of my bottle, I definitely recommend to try this brand, it works for me at least.

What I like:
• The flavor. Don't quite have the words for it, but it somehow tastes cleaner? More pure and direct saltiness, if that makes sense.
• The trace minerals. We use this in homemade electrolyte drinks all the time.
• Sourced in the USA, not cut with awful additives.
• Dissolves fairly easily and is a fine grain, though there are often some undissolved grains left at the bottom of the glass (I'm guessing because the of the high mineral content). We also use Celtic salt, which we love, but this is more versatile for sure.
• I really like the resealable packaging with the built-in pour spout. Super easy to refill our salt shaker.

Things to consider:
• The cost. General table salt at the grocery store is a lot cheaper, but I feel like you don't have to use as much of Redmonds to get a lot of flavor.
• It does clump a little. I usually have to tap the salt shaker against my hand before using it to loosen it up.

Overall, it's a yes for me.

I use this salt, Celtic salt, and Himalayan salt daily for both my dog and I. It is much healthier for us both. It’s packed with minerals and a great salty taste that doesn’t take much to add flavour to your food.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taste great! Really! Better than "salt"!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 4, 2024
I don't know how to explain, but you gotta try it to understand it. It's salt, but it taste different than salt.

It tastes as good saltiness, while feels more gentle, tender, in a bit layers of tasting.

If I really have to describe it, it's like:
- For maths/science guru, normal table salt is like a square wave, just turn saltiness on. This salt, however, is like a beautiful sine wave.
- For audiophile, normal table salt is like a normal below 30 pounds/euro headphone, you get the sound, as you just get the saltiness. This salt is like swapping to an over 300 pounds/euro or more monitor headphones, with extra details surfacing up in the experience which are not discovered before.
- For musicians, like some master said "vibrato is not just switching on and off"
- For artists, normal table salt is like massive copycat of so called art, or AI or collage or splashing that thousands of artists doing the same and still sold in galleries, just for decorations and for the sake of as if there's art just being there. This salt is like more mature artists with deeper expression and philosophy in the art piece.
- For coders and geeks, table salt is like codes just written for the sake of closing the dirty tasks for once, even hardcoding variables. This salt feels more like properly architected structures and clean codes well remarked, that we'd appreciate every layer and components with comfort.

Err... keep going? how to describe more for all others? Just try it and you'd know.

BTW, it's a bit pricy. However my wife insist only using this salt now and no others. Anyway I'm the one paying...
