Stacey Johnston is an Australian author who resides in a northern Western Australian town with her husband and two younger daughters. A proud mother of four, Stacey divides her time trying to find the right balance between her family, her fulltime employment and her writing.

With a love of reading from an early age, Stacey often found herself getting lost within the pages. To her, that wonderful world of make-believe was an escape from a life she didn’t always believe she belonged a part of.

Over time story telling became a big part of who Stacey was which is why she started writing them down a few years ago. Never wanting to limit herself to any one genre, Stacey has published works in the Romantic Suspense, ROMCOM and Women’s Fiction genres.

The one thing about being a writer that Stacey adores is the transference of those words from her mind onto paper, so they can be shared with readers who are willing to take a leap of faith with a seemingly unknown author. In addition to that, if Stacey can create the whole disappearing into another world and imagining you are there feeling for her own readers, it further aids in keeping her motivated.

That’s the beautiful thing about being a writer though, having the ability to create something magical just by walking past a stranger in a supermarket or on the street.

You meet Luke, Kyle, Stephen and Ben who have lived at Laguna Beach all their lives. They are all close friends and their families are close as well. They spend their time showing tourists around and picking up girls. After the last time, they were late home and not wanting to risk that again, the boys take a short cut, only to witness a murder.
Shortly after they end up in the witness protection program, hopefully for only a few months. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

I loved this first book in the series, it had twists you didnt expect and kept you reading to see what was coming next. It was a great introduction to the boys and the unexpected circumstances the where placed in by simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I cant wait to read the next book in the series! 5 stars!!

I really enjoyed California Dreaming. I felt it set up the scene for the next book by Stacey Johnston. It's a nice little prelude, introducing us to the characters. What started out as a nice, teenage type setting though, swiftly changed in the second half, casting a much darker spin on the story to come.
California Dreaming left me bursting to read the next book. Heroes and Villians.

This prequel gives just enough background info to get you snared into the story! Each followup book will cover the main characters. I'm definitely going to get the rest of them! The growing up of the group of childhood friends and their antics was engaging with each one having a distinct personality. These guys looks like they'll have good stories to go with them to follow through on the mystery! Kudos, Stacey, for grabbing my my full attention!

Lots to take in with this book. There are 4 boys starting out this story. I got a little confused trying to keep them straight, but after a few chapters i had who was who down. I like that the story starts out with them being young. So far I really like the book. Can't wait to read more. I have lots of questions. Can't wait to find out who this Peyton is or what Bens parents did take him not like them. Bring on the rest!!!
