Exactly what I wanted
This worked awesome. I got it for stenciling on top of chalk paint. I did apply one top coat of protective matte clear before stenciling, which likely kept the chalky paint from sticking to the stencil. The difference between using the adhesive spray (on the right) and not using it can easily be seen in my pic.
