I put a stapled chapter of 7 pages in one easily, and it didn't rip so I think they'll hold up well enough, it's just the annoyance factor of the loud crinkle they have as I turn through my pages. That being said, these were cheap so I can hardly expect top quality. I won't bother to return them, but I would not use these for any special projects or presentation material, I would use a better brand. They'll do the job of holding my homework pages well enough.
**Update April 10, 2015** Despite my not-great review above, I needed more of these a year later and after checking prices and being disgusted all over again at how overpriced they are, I decided I could deal with these after all and re-ordered more. Upon arrival I noticed the box was a different design, so I double checked brand and the product number and it was the same. But when I opened them I was pleasantly surprised to discover they made HUGE improvements to these! No longer loud and crinkly, now they are more "rubbery" (for lack of a better word), not loud and crinkly like the old ones. And they got rid of the texture pattern on them too, still keeping them glare-free but making it a much more subtle matte finish. I lined one up with an old one and the new one is ever so slightly smaller, so the fit is now better too. Huge improvement, so I changed my review title and changed 3 stars to 5 stars. I will definitely stick with this brand now if they keep the price low.
They're bigger than the sheet protectors you'll get from Avery, and they're a VERY thin material. However, these have stood up for quite a while so they're pretty durable. They come in a big box that you can tear the top off of (it's perforated) so they can store easily on a shelf or in a drawer.
The fact that these are a little bigger than the Avery protectors actually works out well for me, since sometimes magazine pages are bigger than 8.5x11, but if you're looking for high-quality protectors that will fit your pages exactly for presentations or other professional materials... you may want to look elsewhere.
For my purpose, they're great.
Cheap price? Oh yeah.
Does it work? Like a charm!
The cheapest sleeves I found at a quick glance that work quite well. I wouldn't suggest The Smithsonian use these to archive historical documents, but I would let a child put their history assignment in them to increase the presentation of their report.
Personally bought them to protect a hard copy of a document I plan on referencing daily. I just like to have good old fashioned hard copies around the office. Although I'm sure trees frown upon me from time to time....
Nice product at a nice price!
