Moved into a new house and didn’t have a fireplace. This was the PERFECT alternative. We prefer real, wood burning fireplaces - this is an amazing alternative. One can is enough, but for special occasions we will use three. The cans are so easy to use - just give it a shake, pop the lid off, and light. It gives a crackling noise and everything. We love the real flame. It is just the right size - not too big. It looks great in our living room, but would be perfect for a dining room, bedroom, or even a bathroom. We really love this fireplace.

It is absolutely beautiful, but I've relocated one time and it literally collapsed under its own weight when moved - and we're not talking thrown on a truck, we're talking it got picked up by two men and pieces snapped off and cracked. Flimsy as all hell, but if you leave it be forever, you'll honestly never realize it. We glued and nailed it back together as best we could in the new place and it's still one of my favorite features of the room.

Which two of us we put this together in about 1 hour it was easy to follow the directions and the only other tool we needed that wasn't included was a small screwdriver for the firebox plates. I am amazed at how beautiful the fireplace is, it looks authentic like as part of the house! The real flame gel cans, model 4098 are amazing! So pretty and they even crackle, this is way more than I expected, I thought it might look like 3 candles in a box with a log, but the cans have no wick so the fire dances around within each can, so it moves and sounds just like it should, I'm very pleased with this and highly recommend it! I think I may buy another for the master bedroom

Made in China-cheap materials. There are no back sides, it's open, so what you see is what you get. When you put the gel cans in.their places, and the log in its place, the metal chain in front won't close. The gel that you burn STINKS. They don't tell you that when you buy the fireplace. You find that out when you get the fuel. You then need to have good ventilation, which defeats the purpose of a fireplace producing heat. After reading the other reviews, it seemed this is what I was looking for. Nope. I'm bummed.

I considered building out a fireplace in our home and was estimated at around $5,000. We live in Florida and do not need a fireplace very often, so this was a more economical solution for us. It's shorter than a typical wall fireplace, however, it makes the room feel very welcoming and looks like it was part of the room. This unit does provide some heat in the room, but really just the amount of heat you would expect for a small fire in the corner. If you live above North Carolina, you will find this inadequate for heating you or your home. For me it was partially decorative and partially to sit in front of it with a nice book and toasty toes. Does the job well for that purpose.

I will agree with other on the gas fuel. It crackles like a real fire, produces some heat, and lasts 2-3 hours; however, this fireplace takes 3 of them at a time and they run about $3 a piece. So for every 2-3 hours I run the fireplace it costs $9. Doesn't break the bank if you don't use it often but I think it is more expensive than natural gas log use would be.

The finished product looks like it was made for the corner I placed it in--just like in the picture! When I got home from work last night the 2 boxes it came in were by my front door--and even though it was almost 9:30PM I got to work. The directions were easy; each piece was clearly marked and well-packed. All you need is a Philips screwdriver to install the firebox. I'm a woman in my 60s, I was able to do it myself in just about 2 hours (taking my time and enjoying the process). Everything lined up beautiful, the holes matched, the hardware exactly right. The firebox curtain setup was a little different than described in the directions, however assembly was easy to figure out when looking at the screws provided. I rewarded myself with a crackling fire 'round midnight--and it was awesome!
