Once a day:

I've had a few waterpiks before and this is the first one I've bought in years! Its really good quality and I love that it has multiple tips that you can switch out.... but there are a few things that need to be mentioned about this product.

If you like the hand-held waterpiks that don't make a lot of noise, this might not be for you. It's pretty loud so if you have light sleepers in the house, you could probably wake them up with this. Another thing is that it can take a bit to get used to, but so does everything in life.

Price. The price is low-key outrageous. I bought this on the spring sale Amazon just had and even with an ALMOST 50% discount, $50-$60 dollars is still a bit much. Don't get me wrong, it gets the job done, but I don't think people should spend over $40 on this. If you can get it when it's on a huge sale, would definitely recommend purchasing it then.

One more thing, it's a bit bulky but not like older versions. Big reservoir, many piks, easy to use. I just wish a case to put the extra piks was included and NOT sold separately for the price you pay.

Regarding all of the pros and cons, I would still rate it 5 stars because it does its job, just some of these issues are worth noting.

This water flosser is a life saver if you have braces like me and worse, Forsus Appliance. No matter how hard you try to floss with normal methods, it is IMPOSSIBLE to not have leftover food and get that nasty smell of rotten food.
This appliance does the job well. You have enough water for 2 applications(at least for me) before you need to fill it up. I use distilled/bottled water to avoid possibly having residuals from tap water forming. The appliance does enough enough pressure, and a volume to tune the pressure. It is stronger than the dentists water flosser. At level 10, it is almost razor sharp and you could feel your tongue tingling. I did not try other devices, and this is my first one, but I don't even need to. It is also not that big for travelling either. 10/10!

I had regular ole dental floss and never used it. Then I paid like $35 for a portable water flosser (trying to be frugal) and I hated it. It had a very small container that held the water, and I had to use a tiny hole to fill it and drain it. And it was a pain to unscrew every minute to fill again. Then after I was done, I had to take it apart and place it on a towel for an hour for all the parts to dry. It was ugly to look at while it was drying. Like one part had a long, ugly looking plastic tube sticking out that went inside the water container. I never used it and ended up giving it away. Then I tried floss picks and once again never used them. I would put the floss picks in different parts of the house and even got a special floss pick container, hoping that I could be motivated to floss. Never did. But finally, I tried this larger water flosser and it's freaking fabulous.

I just keep the top open and I use a cup to pour water into the top. This way, I can take my time and go through three containers worth of water. There is actually a storage area that you can get to if you lift the water container up. It only stores two tips though. Would have been great if somehow there were places where I could put like 5-7 tips, instead of just the two, but that's okay I guess. The cord that goes from the hand-held flosser to the unit is awesome. It keeps it's coils and shape so it doesn't look at all messy and cluttery. The electric cord is long too, so no problems reaching an electric outlet that is a bit far away. Everything just looks so sleek, minimalistic, and nice. And everything is intuitive and user friendly and functions great. Read the instruction manual for more tips, like how to remove timer pause alerts that are every 30 seconds (Update: One flaw is that you will have to do this every time you unplug the water flosser and plug it back in. I a not sure if you will have to do it if you just turn the water flosser off and back on, but I am guessing not.). The unit doesn't take up a lot of space, so that's good too. I'm just very pleased.

This was recommended by several people and it's proven to be a great asset to maintaining my dental routine. I just had two implants done, and with close-together teeth, this is just a better option for me than using dental floss. I like the wide variety of tips for various purposes, and the small on-board storage area for your favorites. It's small enough to travel with, but I doubt that I'd do that. I was surprised that even after a thorough brushing, this machine gets my teeth still cleaner. The function is wonderful. It works well. There are a wide range of settings of "jet" strength, and new users should be aware that the higher end, stronger jets of water are VERY strong. Don't be tempted to spin that dial all the way to the highest setting thinking if a little works, a lot will work better. I would recommend starting on a lower setting and only going up one tick at a time to see how it feels and what works best for you, not flipping the dial immediately all the way to the strongest setting. The only drawback for me is the noise! It sounds like a lawn mower in August and vibrates like it's getting ready to walk off the bathroom counter (it doesn't)! But it works! It works well! I can overlook the noise and the vibration, but if you're going to use this at night, be nice and do it before everybody else gets to sleep....

Este es el segundo producto de la marca que adquiero. El primero lo tuve hace unos años y al cabo de unos meses se descompuso; intenté repararlo pero nunca encontré quien lo hiciera porque era un problema eléctrico, así que terminé por tirarlo a la basura. En esta ocasión, adquirí nuevamente esta marca porque aparentemente todas las principales marcas tienen ese problema y es más sencillo encontrar puntas o aditamentos de waterpik, así que sugiero no dejarlo conectado a la luz para evitar que algún pico de energía lo queme; además recomiendo utilizar agua purificada para evitar que se tape con sedimentos o calcio y si no se puede, seguir las indicaciones de la marca respecto de realizar una limpieza regular del dispositivo agregando agua tibia y vinagre. Según el fabricante, se pueden incluir productos como enjuague bucal o similares al depósito de agua, lo cual me parece muy práctico pero yo en particular no lo realizo para evitar tapar los conductos.

Aunque el dispositivo no es portátil, me parece que vale la pena su compra, sobre todo porque incluye distintas puntas aplicadoras que hacen más sencilla la limpieza bucal y también tiene un mejor depósito de agua en comparación con los dispositivos portátiles de precios similares, que admiten muy poca agua.

Me parece que cualquier tipo de persona le sacará ventaja a este tipo de distintivos, pero la gente con algún tipo de ortodoncia lo valorará más porque facilita mucho la limpieza sin dañar aparatos como brackets y sin la necesidad de realizar maniobras complicadas con los cepillitos especializados. Estoy contento con mi compra, solo espero que esta vez me dure más tiempo.

I also have a travel size - much better for travel - but this is best for a leave it at home on a counter design

Instead of the typical travel models, if you need a water flosser for travel, I recommend the rechargeable Panasonic Ion model. It's a little larger than a handheld, but still very very compact, and much better performing. It is equivalent performance to this cheaper, bulkier Aquarius model that needs to be plugged in to use.

This Aquarius has plenty of power, lots of different tips - probably more than you will ever need

I have found the waterpik water flossers to be more durable than their Panasonic competition

We bought some water flossers after daughter got braces... now the whole family uses them

In the past when I would ask dentists if water flossers improve upon regular flossing or can be used instead of regular floss - they would always be uncomfortable, non-commital, and vague with their answers....

For everyone in our family, after using these for a while, when it came time for our regular dental cleaning, the dental hygienist (DH) remarked how exceptionally well maintained our teeth were with virtually no plaque

When I replied that we were now using water flossers the DH admitted that they are not allowed to say water flossers improve your dental hygiene..... I didn't press on why... but maybe it is a restriction imposed by their dental association?

That said - you have to use them properly. My daughter was using this with the tip designed for braces. She had great hygiene from the biting surface of her teeth to the braces, but the other half of her teeth, between the gums and braces had lots of plaque. The waterpik is not to blame, my daughter's sloppy hygiene was. She has now been told she has to focus on the entire surfaces of her teeth. No matter how good the tool, you still have to use it properly.

If you don't yet have a quality water flosser - get one! The countertop models are powerful enough, if you take care between your teeth to dislodge even stuck pieces of meat, and other things that tend to get caught between teeth. I used to check afterwards with regular floss - and found that handheld less powerful battery travel models, with smaller reservoirs, did less well with food particles wedged between teeth.

The other bonus here, is that like the advertising says, the DH confirmed it's also great for the health of your gums!

In short I now consider a quality water flosser, together with a good tongue scrape, as essential tools for the best possible daily dental hygiene at home.

If you want to splurge put a little mouthwash into the water in the flosser. Your mouth will feel every bit as clean as if you just came from the dentist !
