Update: This continues to be a complete life-changer for me: after years of crippling near-daily migraines, I am mostly free of them. I take this 3 times a day every day, occasionally upping the dose if I start having an issue. I actually can go a whole month without a migraine anymore. I still avoid triggers and follow a careful health regimen. I also take a triptan if I have an acute attack. But I now only have to do that once in a while whereas it was a life-starker before. And yes—I did try pharmaceuticals. This is a wonder-herb. I would grow it myself if it were native to my region.
This has been the only thing to prevent my almost-daily migraines, even after seeing a specialist and working for years to mitigate them. I already do everything in my power to prevent them, avoiding triggers religiously, having a puritanically clean lifestyle, etc., but with almost no effect. Enter feverfew: 3 x’s per day, every day, and it has been a lifesaver. I didn’t think it would work, but I’ve experimented with it enough to know that it is the thing that is making all the difference (as a preventative, not an onset medication). Wow.
I've suffered from migraine headaches dating back to when I was 18. I took prescribed medication for a long time which helped tremendously in the beginning...but seemed to stop working after many years. A little over a year ago I ended up in the E.R. with horrible pain in my head along with major pressure - tests were done to make sure there was nothing abnormal going on and nothing was found. I visited an eye doctor to make sure there was no pressure in my eyes and I got a clean bill of health there, too. I was finally referred to a Neurologist who told me that I was suffering from migraines and tension headaches and he prescribed me a new medication. I've been taking this medication religiously for a little over a year now, every single night before bed; it's a very low dosage of an antidepressant called Elavil. While it makes me sleep VERY well at night, and it has helped a little, I still suffered from bad headaches and eye pain/pressure. Frankly, I got sick and tired of the idea that I was putting this poison in me EVERY night with little results so I started looking for a healthier alternative. I read an article about Feverfew helping with body aches, such as headaches and that paired with White Willow, it could do wonder. I did a lot of research and read through so many positive reviews that I decided to give it a try. I purchased both products and started taking them together at dinner time. I've done this every day for a few months and noticed that while I still get the occasional headache, I haven't had as many AND the very few that I have had we're a lot less intense. I just ordered my second bottle and plan on continuing for as long as I'm seeing positive results.
I hope this helps someone else as much as it has helped me!
I've been taking it for three weeks today, and tonight is the first time I've come close to needing Excedrin since I started. I had the lowest possible expectations, but this herb has given me my life back. They are not totally gone, and I can feel my head start to throb if I'm late getting my capsules taken, but the difference is undeniable. It's taken my daily pain level from 8-10 to 3-4. Sometimes it's 0. It hasn't been 0, not even for 24 hours, in years. Other reviews say it only gets better after a few months, and I hope that's true. These capsules have already saved my life, and anyone who lives with chronic, daily pain knows that I am not exaggerating when I say that.
