My review of Love Nouveau by B. L. Berry
This debut novel has skyrocketed to the top of my all time faves list! It was a beautiful, unforgettable story that was full of emotion. A story about finding yourself and falling in love. And can we talk about the cover..... Unique and Beautiful. The story is different and painful.

** "I've been yours since the moment I first saw you and you had no idea I even existed." **

Twists and turns you didn't see coming. OMG moments that will have you in tears. You will devour this book in one sitting. Feeling every ounce of emotion each character endures.

Ivy - a lost soul. Looking for acceptance, in my opinion. Not necessarily taking the right path in life over the last few years. I found it refreshing, in a way, to have a lead character that did have flaws. It made the story seem more true to life. Most college kids go through a rebellious, wild and crazy stage. Her family is wealthy and heartless. It's no wonder she acts out like she does at times. The pain that Ivy has endured will gut you. You will cry - more than once. And after all she goes through she manages to be witty and funny and sassy - that made me love her more.

** My new motto - "Be who you are and own that shit-because only with true self-acceptance comes peace and joy." **

Phoenix will be your new book boyfriend! Total Swoon worthy. They meet by chance and from there a special friendship is formed. From the beginning you will love him. He was the perfect gentleman. He is probably the only person who has ever really listened to Ivy. The things he does for her will melt your panties. Phoenix, himself, is dealing with loss and hurt. Another lost soul of sorts.

** Excerpt that melted me - I feel him pull on my hand, tugging me back inside. His eyes burn through my soul and my knees weaken. Ever so slowly, he lifts my hand to his lips and places a delicate kiss on my palm before curling my fingers in a fist. "Hold onto this until tomorrow," he whispers. **

Neither of them feel worthy of love. Their relationship is one that will have you cheering for a HEA. Can this relationship last the distance and the curve balls that are thrown their way?

Then we have the epilogue - which leaves so many things unanswered. I have my own theories as you will too. I will continue to believe they will get the HEA they both deserve.

Good NA debut by BL Berry. Ivy is somewhat adrift in her life. Her family is less than supportive of her decisions or approving of her as a person but Ivy still has to comply with their demands. She hasn't had much luck with her love life either, finding someone she feels connected and committed to. Ivy is the sort of person who is independent, logical and not easily trusting. When she meets Phoenix, they have an immediate connection, but the logistics of them being friends or even more is not working in their favor. What made me love Phoenix was his willingness to take whatever he could get from Ivy, even if their time was limited and their geographic distance was long. Even though they aren't an official couple in name, they are like a couple in every other way with their constant communication and affection towards each other. Phoenix is honest, caring and always seems to know the right things to say. There are twists in this story that turn things around in a completely unexpected way. Do they have a chance at a relationship if their lives are on different paths and locations? There's a big question at the end of the book that opens a lot of doors for explanation and has me curious as to what will happen in the next book.

Not too long ago I read this book by author, B.L. Berry called Love Nouveau. The cover art was fabulous, which quite honestly is what drew my interest to the novel in the first place. It's so unique, and artistic. It's so pretty. So, even though we're told time and time again to not judge a book by it's cover, that is exactly what I did. I decided purely based on the cover that I wanted to read this story. I'm happy to say that Miss Berry's debut novel did not disappoint at all.

After escaping to Italy to avoid her messed up family and ex-boyfriend, Ivy returns to the states ready to take on her new life with a fresh perspective. She soon meets Phoenix at a party where they instantly discover a connection unlike many others. Like, so unbelievably real and palpable almost. I felt like I was living through them as I read this, that's how believable the characters felt to me. Every bit of quirkiness punched through, every bit of emotion between them hit me in my gut and made me feel sick, as if I too was experiencing the same emotions. Berry's ability to build these characters up is phenomenal. Ivy is such a flawed girl, so lost and confused but maybe that is how and why I can relate with her so much. She's so very real. And Phoenix, goodness, he's so sweet and honest and just wants Ivy to trust him.

Anyhow, Ivy and Phoenix go their separate ways as they each intended but continue to keep in touch through modern technology. All the while, the two are building this beautiful friendship with lively, witty banter, and a sweet adoration towards each other.

This novel takes the reader through so many twists that you swear you're going to puke from the roller coaster of emotion flying off the pages, honestly. You seriously just don't know what is coming next, all the while, hoping and praying for love to prevail. Then, the end leaves you there, hanging... waiting for the next installment in the story. I wish I'd realized that this was a continuation so I could've at least prepared myself but I didn't realize that upon beginning the story. Ugh! So now I wait...we wait to find out what truly happens with Ivy and Phoenix's story.

Overall, I really really liked this book. I find it incredibly hard to believe that this was a debut novel, however. The writing flowed so seamlessly and the words so poetically that it definitely felt like that of a seasoned author. Kudos to Miss Berry for an exceptional entrance into the literary world with Love Nouveau. She is already well on her way to greatness, based on this novel. I cannot wait to read the continuation of this story and more to come from her.

I enjoyed this book a lot I really loved Ivy she made this book for me strong,witty,sassy beautiful independent unlike her horrid family IE mom,sister I don't even think they are human more step-ford wives just hideous people I loved Rachael such a wonderful friend so supportive in every-way Sully such a dirty filthy pig there's a twist but I will never like him now Phenix well what can I say loved him almost to perfect if u know what I mean and the epilogue made me so mad at him but I can't wait to read more ESP Ivy she's one awesome chick!!!!
