Xander, xander, xander
I was one of the lucky minions to recieve a ARC copy of When Stars Collide.
This book blew my mind, I was so excited to read about Xander and Thea.
Xander lept into my top 10 book boyfriends.
I lovedw that for once the lead guy was the one fighting for the relationship. He was so selfless, putting aside his own desires (thea) and wants (football) for those around him, until now.
I loved their unique, cute and comfortable relationship, which doesn't really change once they are together. Xander is swoon worthly and loves so fiercely its dreamy, he is so proctive too.
I loved everything about this book and was so freaking excited that it wont be the last we get of these amazing characters

When Stars Collide (Light in the Dark Book 2) Kindle Edition
We were like two stars orbiting each other—dancing around the possibility that one day we might collide. When we finally did, we opened up a black hole, obliterating everything around us. No one would be the same.
Least of all, us.
Waking up in Vegas married to the guy of your dreams sounds like a good thing, right? Not when you’re Thea Montgomery and said guy is your brother’s best friend.
Thea and Xander have always avoided the connection between them because her brother would never approve. Now, they’re married— the strongest bond you can have as a couple—and they’re not even a real couple…unless they want to be.
Thea wants an annulment immediately, but Xander’s waited too long to see her become his and he won’t let her go easily.
If she wants a divorce, fine, but he wants the summer to convince her that he’s the one. If at the end of the summer she still wants to end their marriage he’ll sign the papers, but until then…
All is not fair in love and war.
Book two in the Light in the Dark series but can be read as a standalone.

I loved Xander and Thea's story. I think it is beautifully balanced with love, drama, tension and life. I reslly the dual POV, I think Xander adds so much to this story and I loved hearing it from him. Xander and Thea are the perfect couple and I loved reading their story.

When Stars Collide is the second novel in the Light in the Darkness-series and follows Xander and Thea. I loved Cade and Rae’s story and got super excited when Micalea announced to make a whole series about it!
Xander and Thea are in Vegas, get drunk and get married. Cliché, isn’t it? At least that’s what I thought when I first read the blurb. But in all honesty, I was looking forward to it because I haven’t read a novel with this storyline, yet. After waking up married, Thea decides to get an annulment ASAP but Xander convinces her otherwise. He wants the whole summer to convince her that being married to him is not as bad as it seems – because after all he has feelings for her for quite some time and so does Thea for him.
I love Micalea and I love her books but this novel was not as exciting as I hoped it would.
The novel starts off real great and the wedding in Vegas is a constant topic between Xander and Thea. But as the story continues they talk less and less about it and other issues become more and more permanent. To me, the story has one too many issues. Besides the wedding, there are two to three other issues the characters have to deal with and it felt all too much.
The ending of the novel felt a little too dramatic and too forced. Like the novel had to end with a big “boom” because it was lacking of dramatic scenes.
The cheese-level in this novel was not as high as in Rae of Sunshine, tho.
Xander and Thea were great together, but Thea was way too dramatic and too annoying.
If you’ve read Rae of Sunshine you probably will read When Stars Collide, too. This book is rather a book for fans of Micalea only, I think.
I hope Dark Hearts will be a bit better.

I loved, loved, loved Xander, Thea, and their story!

When Stars Collide was absolutely incredible and I truly loved reading Xander and Thea’s story. Everything from the writing style to the storyline and characters was amazing, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. It had the perfect balance of romance, humor, and drama, and I loved reading every single page. It was more light-hearted and romantic than Rae of Sunshine, which I was grateful for, but it definitely had its share of serious moments as well. The pacing of the story was excellent and I was never once bored. Ms. Smeltzer did an amazing job with every aspect of this book and it might just be one of my favorite novels from her!
I loved Xander and Thea so much and was so happy to finally read their story, especially from both of their POV. Their relationship definitely began unconventionally, but I loved how it progressed from beginning to end. I loved the natural and effortless relationship they had with each other and thought they made a perfect couple. Xander and Thea’s banter with one another was extremely entertaining and I found myself laughing on more than one occasion. They both dealt with rough patches and difficult situations throughout, but I loved that they had each other to lean and rely on at the end of the day. I loved getting to see some familiar faces, namely Cade, Rae, Jace, and Nova, and I was thrilled that a few of them were able to finally get some closure and peace to certain events that took place in Rae of Sunshine and this book as well. I was extremely happy with the conclusion to Xander and Thea’s first book, and I cannot wait to start Jace and Nova’s story in Dark Hearts next!

This is a lovely, angsty, romantic, sweet, funny romance. Micalea writes such wonderful characters that you can't help but love them. The story is well written, the pace is good and the writing is excellent. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good romance book.
It is the second in a series and whilst it can be read as a standalone, reading book 1 will give you some more background on the characters.

When Stars Collide by Micalea Smeltzer is my second ARK from this author and my first Release Blitz event! I was super excited to read this book after snagging a copy of Ray of Sunshine for FREE -- the first book in Smelter's 'The Light in The Dark' series.
Rae of Sunshine, Cade and Rae's story, is where we first meet Thea and Xander, the main characters in When Stars Collide . While they are present in Ray of Sunshine they are only secondary characters. Each of these books can be read as a stand alone.
I've read a few books from this author and I have to say I got really excited about the premise of this book. Once I read the blurb I knew I had so know more!
________
While an impromptu marriage is not ideal and keeping said marriage a secret is far from ideal... sooner or laters someone is going to find out... right?! Thea hopes it's just not Cade, her over protective older brother. Keeping their new marital status a secret from their roommates, Cade and Rea, only makes the situation more complicated for the newly weds.
What I liked most about this book is that Xander is so caring and patient with Thea, even when he doesn't agree with her -- primarily her insistence in getting a divorce. They've been friends for a long time and you can see that hasn't change as they struggle to deal with the ramifications of their Vegas nuptials and the curveballs life throws at them along the way.
Rea, Thea's best friend and Cade girlfriend, doesn't have a larger presents in this story. I feel that unless you read Rea of Sunshine, her character is not very developed in this story. The same can be said for Cade. Cade is much more than the over protective brother and we didn't get to see his playful side very much in this story. Luckily, Smeltzer does a good job at communicating the important details from Rea of Sunshine we need to know to understand character relationships.
Overall, this was a good read. In fact, my husband kept making fun of me for the goofy grin I would get on my face while reading on the sofa next to him. There are so many cute moments between Xander and Thea you can't help but like them as a couple.
I did think that the blurb is a little misleading when it come to Thea's feeling about her relationship with Xander, particularly after they return home and have gotten over the shock. I won't say more to keep this as spoiler free as possible, but I thought that aspect of the story was a little inconsistent.
Simply put... When Stars Collide is a cute love story of two people being unexpectedly connected. Watching them navigate what that means for their future is what makes this story special and worth the read!
Personally, I don't think Smelter's 'The Light in The Dark' series is my favorite of hers. These book would be a good starting point of anyone wanting to read their first Micalea Smeltzer novel, but I did prefer the two books I've read in her 'Us' series and I can't say enough good things about Bring Me Back (loved it!).

Amazing book, so many emotions and feelings - loved it.
The journey of Thea and Xander is cute and sexy and touches you from the first page, like so many of Micalea Smeltzer's books - she is a one-click-author to me.
The plot is a favourite of mine, can't get enough of friends-to-lovers-stories ;) maybe I wanted Xander to be a little more cocky but he is perfect for Thea and I love them together.
