Its boom-style microphone adjusts to an optimum level for your mouth and cancels solid-state background noise for cleaner transmissions. The KX-TCA430 is reversible--you may wear it on either ear--and it uses a comfortable, lightweight design and offers a 4-foot cord so you'll enjoy nearly unfettered movement while wearing it.

These headphones have been around for years and I've been using them for just as long. I've been so spoiled for hands-free calling that when I do have to hold the phone to my ear I feel like something is very wrong.

I'm getting older and my ears aren't what they used to be, but I've never had a problem hearing with these headsets. Ear buds really hurt my ears, but these are light and very comfortable. I switched to headsets back in the 90's when i realized that I was getting a rash from the phone handset and of course this set does keep the bacteria off my cheek and jaw like any other would. People never complain about how I sound.

Not one pair has come out of the box defective. Not one pair has failed early or without GOOD reason. I've come to trust that any set I receive will be well packaged and will have survived the mail. Never once had reason to return a pair

And good quality control is REALLY important because I've gone through a LOT of them.

Why? Well, lots of reasons. I have cats who seem to find the cord particularly nice for teething. They've been sat on, dropped, and tossed on various surfaces. I must snag a cord on my kitchen cabinet handles and rip them off my head at least once a week.

And, other than the cat teeth, they take the abuse surprisingly well. Without the cat teeth, each pair lasts well over a year.

The price is low enough that it doesn't bother me to replace them every once in awhile.

Now I never use the mute function, so I really can't attest to that one thing. But the Panasonic hands free headset works like no other and does it's job well.

Granted not the initial purpose for this, but it functions for what I need it for since my model vehicle doesn't pair with my type of phone. Don't waste your money, not worth buying

The photo in the ad doesn't reveal that the end of the head band folds up. The earpiece does not swivel, and is parallel with the "pad" (which is not really a pad, it's a hard rubber insert), which may seem insignificant, but the side of people's heads are not parallel, so when you have the headset on the earpiece makes contact mainly with the back of your ear, while the front is open, allowing ambient noise easy access to the ear canal. Because the earpiece is mostly contacting the back of the earlobe, as is the 'as is the, it's easily displaced from being centered over the ear canal. If you have hair on you're head, that will make it even easier for the headset to fall off. There is an in-line mute switch on the wire, but it's a momentary-only switch- you have to keep holding the switch down the whole time it is muted, which seems to be an odd choice for a headset that's design is supposed to be to free up one's hands. These mute switches in other headsets is most often either on-off or on-off-momentary. The microphone boom just barely reaches the corner of my mouth.

This headphone with mic set has high quality sound and mic. Very comfortable. I work from home on the phone for 6 hours at a time, so comfort is a must! No sweating in the earpiece, light, cool, mic is flexible, can be positioned however you like, worn on right or left ear, and feels much more sturdy than Panasonic's previous model. The mute control on the cord is very handy, as is the volume control. The one thing I do not like is that the volume control does not add onto my phone's volume. Won't go louder than my phone's setting's, but I would gladly buy this model again and again. The set being corded also is a benefit as I don't have to worry about static, dead air, etc. Plugs into my Panasonic landline phone.
