Review

Multiple reviews confirm how poignant and powerful As a Man Thinketh is in every facet of the life of the average person.

``This little volume (the result of meditation and experience) is not intended as an exhaustive treatise on the much-written upon subject of the power of thought. It is suggestive rather than explanatory, its object being to stimulate men and women to the discovery and perception of the truth that - --from The Author, James Allen

How is it that I am 31 years old and only now reading this? What seems most refreshing about this book, despite its age, is the refinement of ideas that clearly endure. We find ideas as ancient and enduring as those found in The Bible and the philosophy of Stoicism and as contemporary as the understanding that stress and anxiety reak havoc on the body (though it should be noted the “Thought and its effect on the body” chapter should be taken with a grain of salt. There is an effortless and seamless synthesis of principles that account for a wide variety of perspectives on happiness, peace, and success. It is unfortunate that it is written in a way that portrays a “masculine” point of reference, but if one can instead think of the phrase “a man” as a collective of our species, as in ‘huMANity’ then this book is truly for everyone.

If you've read Reality Transurfing and 78 Days of Transurfing, then this is a concise read focusing on the thought elements of those books.

Would highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Important but shallow
Reviewed in India on January 7, 2024
The book came in perfect condition with a timely delivery.

My rating for the book is ★★☆☆☆

A good short read with information that most of us are already familiar with. Though the book talks from the male perspective which I found shallow, it is helpful for anyone irrespective of gender. Though the book is not very interesting, the positivity it spreads is important.

How our actions are influenced by our thoughts and how powerful a positive thought can be is something we're familiar with by now. Though the topic this book addressed is relevant the way it has been written is not interesting anymore to recommend someone.

A good book for sure. Coming up with something like this in 1903 is noble but after reading it in 2024 and familiarizing myself with how thoughts affect actions, I, as a reader need more deeper, newer, and convincing perspective to appreciate this completely.

Not recommending this book.

Some philosophy things. But have some really good ideas there. Some ideas that you know it but you didn’t really think about it . After you read this book you can dig something out from your mind and realize that was the you were looking for.
