Compared to the foot pump, inflating the dinghy was a breeze. The display counts up to about 0.15 lbs. past the setting and then the pump turns off. Following the pump shutting off, the pressure slowly starts to drop and you just wait for your exact setting and disconnect the hose from the boat.
I did not have any problems with the hose like some other reviewers did, but as a precaution, I'm ordering some Rescue Tape Halkey-Roberts (HR) Air Valve Adapter to do some reinforcing as a precaution.
I only have one concern. When I inflated things to the manufacturer's specifications, the boat was a lot firmer than it is when inflated by the foot pump. I wonder if the digital pump setting is putting in more air than the display window indicates. I have no way to measure the pressure. To be safe, I decided to set the pump for 10% less than the desired pressure. Even at 90%, it is plenty stiff enough for me.
But the nice thing is it comes with a low pressure hose as well for inflating all manor of things from air mattresses to pool floaties. It does NOT run in reverse though, so it only pumps things up. Twist onto paddle board, set pressure, walk away. It shuts off at the set pressure and I compared it to the pressure guage on myanual pump and they match so it's pretty accurate. I wish it came with the alligator clip accessory for direct battery hookup but it was a cheap accessory. All in all, it's a major win for this summer, beats the heck out of doing it by hand for sure!
I was worried about the speed being a single stage pump. It is only a 60-90 seconds slower than a two stage SUP pump. I filled a 11" long, 6" thick SUP in about 7 minutes. Sure the two stage can do it in 5 and a half minutes but they also cost 2-3 times as much. You also dont have to worry about the extra pieces in a two stage pump that can fail or break. I would say this is more durable. I will update later on how it does after a few months. I was so impressed that I bought 4 of these for my fleet of inflatable.
A coupel things to note though. In "air compressor" talk, it's duty cycle is 25% meaning you can run it for 10 minutes, then you have to let it rest or cool down for 30 minutes. Keep this in mind if you are thinking about using this for commercial use or pumping up all of you gadgets one after another.
Another benefit is the size. It is pretty compact. The LCD display is lit so you can see it at night. It comes with TWO hoses. One to use for low pressure items with various fittings. the other is a high pressure hose for SUP's and boats. It will fit a true Halkey roberts (H3) valve without any modifications. Where ever a bravo manual SUP pump works, this pump will work.
---===UPDATE===---
I ordered a few more of these for my fleet of inflatables. Two of them I had to return. It seems that the high pressure hose that is included is the weakest link. It's pretty cheap molded plastic. For the ones I didn't return, I had to re-glue and and beef up the hose to keep from leaking. A little bit of a letdown. The pump itself appears to be pretty solid but the hose is crap. If it leaks on me again, I will just replace the hose with something jimmy-rigged. Sucks especially when good halkey-roberts fittings are hard to find.
