This is a great product because it does what it's supposed to do. In my case, I had a late 2016 MacBook pro 15". That means I gave up all of my accessories connecting directly and now need adapters to go to Thunderbolt 3, aka USB-C. While the machine has the internals to drive two monitors, Apple and the manufacturers want you to buy new, very expensive, Thunderbolt monitors and frankly, I don't want to buy new monitors to meet Apple's version of an ideal setup. Instead, I have two Dell UltraSharp U2717D which do not support thunderbolt but are absolutely fantastic monitors. They want a HDMI or DP signal and don't seem to work properly with any of the docks available on the market. I tried everything and here's what I found (to save you a LOT of time and frustration): 1) The MBPro CAN drive two monitors from a single TB3 port, but you need a dock that has a TB3 pass-thru AND a HDMI port. You connect this device to the TB3 pass-thru, connect one monitor to this device's HDMI and one to the dock's HDMI. In this configuration, it works flawlessly - one single cord and two monitors plus peripherals. DP doesn't work - only HDMI. 2) If you don't want/have a dock, just score TWO of these units and two HDMI cables and you're all set - cheapie dual monitor setup.
The MBPro is a great machine with major flaws. If you're not trying to drop $8k on your kit, this little device with a dock or two of this device will allow the desktop space you need for much less than any other alternative.
NOTE: I use the Lenovo dock meant for the Yoga with USB-C. It is, in my experience, the best available. No matter what they promise, no Apple supplier's dock will do what you need if you have non-Thunderbolt monitors - NONE. The Lenovo dock plus this adapter is flawless.
Muy practico con la calidad de apple. lo guardo en mi maleta de viaje para cualquier cosa. en el caso de que tenga que proyectar algo y no se puede conectar sin cables
