About the Author

Annie Parnell worked for nearly a decade with some of the most successful writers and producers in television. Missy Piggle Wiggle and the Whatever Cure is such a fun book. Missy is the niece of Mrs. Piggle Wiggle and takes over helping “cure” the children of Little Spring Valley after receiving an urgent letter from her aunt who has decided to finally go find her missing husband. Ann Martin creates a vivid picture of the characters and situations the characters find themselves in.

My eight-year-old daughter loves me reading this book to her and has even noticed a few of these traits in herself. I think most parents will be able to relate to the “conditions” these children have and will wish for some of these cures to use themselves. I’m actually even picking up some parenting tips and considering using the “One More Minute Cure” and wish I had the watch for “The Tardiness Cure”.

I had so much fun reading this book with my daughter. A couple of times I even caught her reading ahead on her own because she couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait for future books – I hope, hope, hope!

We love this book. It has done a great job of helping our children see in a funny manner how their misbehavior can effect other people. They noticed that some of the children in this story don't make good choices and we had some great conversations about behavior expectations and listening to our parents. We bought a second copy and gave it to some friends of our for their birthday and we have seen a change in their behavior too.

Such an imaginative story! We all have known kids with the same issues that the kids in Little Spring Valley have. But using a little magic, Missy Piggle-Wiggle helps them change these annoying habits to become better members of society. The writing is so descriptive, one can imagine seeing the scene. I was not familiar with the original Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle books, but this took me back to the Pippi Longstocking books that I loved as a child. So much fun to be whisked away by a story where children can be children, but still learn valuable life lessons.
