- High Performance: The Dragonfly's success is largely due to its mid-size blade and Ergonomic handle that features a front-finger choil and spine cusp.
- Ergonomic: Designed as a carry: friendly folder, it comes with a left/right-hand tip-up wire clip, patented Bi-Directional Texturing on the handle, spine and choil jimping and screw-together handle construction.
- Superior Quality: The H-1 blade has a high-performance flat-grind and is available with a SpyderEdge configuration.
- Pocket-Friendly: The Dragonfly 2 Lightweight focuses around features which make it Ergonomically comfortable including positioning the Spyderco Round Hole in precise relation to the blade's pivot for the smoothest blade opening.

Product Description
Dragonfly 2 Salt
Other Knives can rust in peace
The Spyderco Dragonfly 2 is also offered with an ultra-corrosion-resistant H-1 blade steel option called the Dragonfly 2 Salt. What makes the Dragonfly ideal, it is mid-sized blade, ergonomic handle with a front-finger choil and a spine cusp. Its blade-to-handle geometry and leveraging points fill a gripping hand, making it feel like you're cutting with a much larger knife. Its FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle is molded with Bi-Directional Texturing that ergonomically fills the hand with a series of angles and leveraging spots and is available in Marine Yellow.
The addition of textured jimping on the choil, spine and screw-together handle construction and a left/right tip-up wire clip make pocket carry effortless and convenient. Precise positioning of the enlarged Round Hole in relation to the pivot makes opening/closing smooth. Hollow-ground for high cutting performance, the blade comes in a PlainEdge or SpyderEdge configuration.

-Lightweight. EDCing a lighter knife is IMO safer because accidents can happen and if you drop your knife it's best to have the least amount of weight possible falling towards your feet. There's also less chance of chipping your blade when its falling with less momentum.
-Comfortable. The grip on this knife is top notch and feels very secure in the hand. I wear medium/large gloves and this knife is the perfect size for my hands. The pocket clip is titanium on the salt and it's tactilally satisfying to touch when you are checking if this feather weight is still in your pocket.
-Durable. H1 steel is made with nitrogen instead of carbon giving it rust proof properties. Knives we carry everyday should be able to handle any environment and it's comforting to know I don't have to baby this knife. Another property of H1 is that it is a work hardened steel. The blade is extremely hard on the serrated version due to the extra grinding required. So not only do you get the longevity of serrated edge, but the steel is hardened by the process as well. The edge on this knife is also crazy sharp, be very careful with it but also be aware that sharp knives are safer than dull knives (a sharp knife requires less force so while it may give you a deep cut a dull knife can require forces that could lop off a finger).
Aesthetically pleasing. Looks aren't everything of course but they can definitely influence which knive lives in your drawer and which in your pocket. The angles on the dragonfly2 are elagant and functional, perfect for a knife you'll be whipping out in public. The handle is a nice shade of yellow but I wanted to personalize mine a bit so I bought a bag of scarlet rit dye along with this knife and now the color is personalized to my tastes. FRN (Fiberglass reinforced nylon) takes the dye very well and works even better if you add a bit of white vinegar to the bath. There are tons of creative ways you can dye the handle making it your own. One neat method I found was using hot glue on the handle before dyeing to act as a resist to the dye. I personally dipped the handle blade-up slowly and repeatedly to give the bottom of the handle a darker shade of scarlet and I couldn't be happier with the results (I'll add pictures when I figure out how :P).
Well that pretty much sums it up, this blade is the best I've ever owned and I highly recommend it to anyone who thinks carrying a knife around is usefull.
I'm a huge fan of Spyderco's serrated edges, and the serrated edge of the Dragonfly 2 does not disappoint. I know that some people prefer plain edge knives and that's fine, but for a small blade such as this the serrated version gives you more cutting edge and more cutting power. I went with the H1 version because I do a lot of paddling and am constantly on, in, or around water. The fact that the blade won't rust is a huge bonus for me. I also love the yellow handle that is only offered on Spyderco's H1 knives (but I REALLY wish they also offered them with orange handles!).
This blade is SHARP! I've used it daily for the normal everyday chores such as opening mail and boxes, opening clamshell packaging, slicing apples at my work desk, cutting rope, etc. It has flown through these materials with ease. In fact, last week I went to open a plastic clamshell (I hate those things) and I made the huge error of underestimating how sharp the Dragonfly blade really is. I put a bit too much pressure on it and it flew through the plastic and bit deep into a finger on my opposite hand. Fortunately the cut was so clean that there was relatively little bleeding and no pain, despite how nasty and deep the cut was. At it's size it is certainly not a self-defense knife, but in a pinch and with some good aim, this thing will slice up an attacker's exposed skin pretty well.
I used to think the Delica was the perfect EDC knife, but I've changed my tune. While I still love the Delica, I think the Dragonfly has it beat hands-down.
A word of advice for people unsure of which version or edge to get: If you want/need the benefits of H1 steel, get the serrated edge. It is a very strong work-hardened steel that holds a great edge. If you don't need H1, or if you much prefer a plain edge, go with a VG10 steel Dragonfly. From what I've read, the plain edge version of the H1 steel doesn't hold its edge as well.
Edge retention is better than I expected, and because I got the serrated edge it stays useful long past the point where a straight edge knife wouldn't be considered 'sharp' anymore. I would say it takes and holds an edge as well as or better than VG-10.
Construction quality, fit and finish are all what you would expect from a Japanese built Spyderco: Excellent. One thing of note: there are no steel liners in this model, which gives the handle a plasticy feel... I don't mind it, because I love the light weight, and I know just how strong FRN really is, but it definitely doesn't FEEL as solid as a Delica/Endura with the steel liners.
Ergonomics are subjective, but for me this little knife is pretty good. I like the fact that I can fit all my fingers in the handle without having to go with a bigger knife in my pocket. It doesn't fit me as well as the Delica or a Para-Military 2, but it's miles ahead of any other knife in its size class.

I love this knife so much. It’s a bit small but carries perfectly in pocket and holds in hand as a bigger knife thanks to the design, but after I used it for a while I now feel the plain blade is maybe better for daily carry.
However, if your looking for a serrated knife you can’t go wrong with this one.
