Product Description

Liquitex offers the broadest range of acrylic mediums to inspire creativity at every stage of the painting process. Liquitex Fluid Mediums perform much in the way that their name implies, they are fluid in nature and reduce viscosity of heavier paints and gels. They tend to self-level and do not retain brushstrokes. Liquitex Fluid Mediums modify acrylic paints in a variety of ways and contain acrylic resins to maintain or enhance adhesion and durability. Liquitex Glazing Medium Fluid Painting Medium is ideal for creating brilliant, jewel-like glazes with acrylic artist colors. Excellent brushing and leveling qualities.  Dries quickly for rapid layering.  Mix with any amount of acrylic color; small quantities of color provide the most transparency.   Works best with transparent or translucent colors. Formulated for maximum flexibility and adhesion, will not chip or crack on canvas.  Can be applied to any material or surface that will accept traditional acrylic media, such as canvas, paper, wood, etc.  Liquitex Texture Gels are lightweight, non-toxic, and dry to a water-resistant, non-yellowing surface. APPLICATION: Apply to dry, painted areas to change coloration without losing established detail. Under layer must be thoroughly dry before applying the next coat. May be dried with a hair dryer to speed drying.   Mix in a small amount of color with the medium. Mix thoroughly and color will lighten. Fluid Mediums

Glazing Medium

Glazing Medium dries quickly for rapid layering and tends to minimize or eliminate brush strokes. Mix with Slow-Dri Blending Medium or Slow-Dri Fluid Retarder to extend the working time.

This is a great product for improving acrylic paint consistency. Metallic paints, and other nonmetallic brands, tend to be too thick for specific art applications, and this product improves them dramatically. I wouldn't trust any other brand for my work.

As it’s label says, this is a very reliable matte surfacing medium. Used normally in fairly small amounts it completely pushes the gloss down into a dead flat. If increased in amount it will create a more transparent colour. But if you over use this medium expect to see so your paint appear a bit lighter in value. That whitish look is just a product of how matte medium works. And that’s normal. Thing is, most matte mediums don’t produce that whitish effect because they usually don’t contain enough of that material to really work reliably. This one does! I’ve tried so many as a studio art teacher. Use it in appropriate amounts and you’ll get a perfect result and you'll find the bottle will last a pretty long time. I love this ultra matte medium.
