About the author

My professional writing career began after the death of my first husband. I hadn’t even dreamed of writing up to that point. I had been writing in my private prayer journal since I was twenty-something. Steve, my first husband was the writer, though he never lived long enough to have any of his work published. It was Dwight, my present husband, who encouraged me to begin writing. Funny how things happen. I had four children and Dwight had three and now our crazy blended family is growing by leaps and bounds with grandchildren. It seems the longer I live, the more experiences there are to write about and the more ways I’ve seen God work! I tend to write like I’m sitting in the room with just one special person and the Lord. I pray something I've written will draw you closer to the Lord. I hope you feel like you are that special person. I’ve been writing regular Prayer Peek & Prompts that have been shared publicly for over 40 years. There are plans to publish those prayers into a series for parents, grandparents, early childhood teachers, care-givers… After having hundreds of articles, devotions and short stories published, two books were recently released to help those who are grieving. I've hosted a Grieve with Hope support group for twenty years since Steve’s death as a Grief Recovery Specialist. I wanted to create a book which would help people actually work through their own grief instead of just reading of someone else’s. MY FOREVER MEMORIES OF YOU is like a grief support group in an interactive book. There’s an in-depth version for adults and a simplified version for children and youth. Both serve as memory books for those who have lost a loved one. This book won the HEART OF AMERICA CHRISTIAN WRITERS NETWORK award for best book. I love to read, write, garden and hang out with our huge family of grown children and grandchildren. I enjoy sharing a blazing fire in the fireplace and hiking with my best friend--my husband Dwight. Most of all, I love the Lord and seeing what new adventures He brings every day.
