Update 8/21/15 After just three days or so I now count about 22-24 total dead bugs in this little trap, two of which are larger non fruit fly type and I never realized I had that many flys in the house to begin with. This trap must use the force or something, it's a fruit fly black hole. I don't understand the viewers who said it didn't work or that they needed a different attractant than the one supplied... They must have genetically engineered robotic nanotechnology fruit flys or something. But for my normal non ninja trained fruit flys, they didn't stand a chance against these traps.
Edit 12/5/15 I suddenly had a fruit fly over run of my house recently and grabbed another of these traps, but this time it did absolutely nothing... I then deployed a second and my last one of this six pack kit with same nil results. After almost two days I now have fruit flys all over. Both of these traps are close to each other and near the epicenter of the fly problem but one has only 2 flys in it the other now has maybe 7 and I have a couple dozen fruit flys flying around the area. These worked beyond belief the first few times but now are not working at all. Yet it's the same bottle of attractant that was used the first times. I can only guess maybe different variants of fly are attracted to different scents etc. Maybe this last round is a hybrid fly. I now have ordered a plug in light and glue trap style in hopes to solve my problem. I also ordered another 6 pack of these because of how well they did the first few times. Once these latest flys are gone I'll go back to these traps for the next time to try again.
After some online research, I decided to try these. These plastic traps are a lot smaller than I was expecting. I filled one with the included solution, which ended up being a stinky mess, as the bottle leaks and the solution goes all over when holding it upside down and squeezing it. The trap didn't catch a single fruit fly during the day yesterday or overnight, so I filled a second trap with apple cider vinegar and a little sugar. When I got home from work this evening, the trap with BEAPCO solution contained four fruit flies (it had been out about 30 total hours), the trap with apple cider vinegar contained about a dozen fruit flies, and my homemade traps each contained several dozen fruit flies. There were more drowned fruit flies in a cup filled with about a half inch of water in my sink than in both BEAPCO traps combined.
Anyway, I wish I had saved my money since my cheap homemade traps are much more effective than these. And now it is back to the drawing board for me on eradicating these pests. I have also tried burning incense to smoke them out and pouring bleach down the drains every night. The more things I try, the more they seem to multiply. It's maddening!
