Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

Customers are mixed about the fit of the transport rack. Some mention that it fits very well, fits perfectly in the trunk, and is very sturdy and extremely easy to put on and off. However, others say that their MTB Marlin 6 did not fit properly, the straps are narrow, and they don't seem to have a very confident feel about them. They also say that the strap length is too long and it took forever to get it tight, and that it is much wider than their old rack.

Customers are mixed about the scratching of the transport rack. Some mention that it's easy to mount and doesn't damage the car or bike, while others say that it dented and scratched their Subaru Crosstrek trunk. The metal on the arms can scratch the paint if you're not careful.

Customers are mixed about the movement of the transport rack. Some mention that there was minimal movement and no sliding of the rack, while others say that the straps and hooks can shift and slide when you get on the road. It's hard to position/slid the holders, and the bike grips are somewhat flimsy and move around quite a bit. One of the bike grits had shifted while driving, causing damage to their car. Overall, the product is a good buy, but some customers are not thrilled with the bike holding.
"...It mounts firm and the bike movement is minimal with the use of a couple bungee cords to secure the front wheel to the bike frame...." Read more
"...Also it's hard to position/slide the holders, I don't see a "locking mechanism" to allow movement and locking in place like the design on..." Read more

My men's Schwinn fits just fine onto the bike rack. My wife's bike, however, won't fit due to its design. She rides a woman's Cannondale without the top cross bar typical of "men's" bikes. Without that top cross bar, there's no way to get her bike onto the rack! Something to think about when you're shopping for a bike rack...we certainly didn't think of that (having never owned a bike rack before).
We'll keep the bike rack. But it just means that we're just going to have to load her bike into the back of my Escape with my bike out on the rack whenever we want to go someplace with them. Total hassle and total bummer but, like I said, it's not Thule's fault!
Dangerous
Within 30 minutes of travel we inspected our new bikes (one XL and one Medium). Upon immediate inspection we found one bike was hanging by one of its 3 straps. One of the straps was still attached to the arm of the Thule, while the other had fallen off during the trip. We were concerned that the bikes would have fallen on the highway and potentially hit a following car. We were able to make the bikes secure with the addition of 2 ratchet straps thanks to a local hardware store. To add insult to injury, we discovered the bikes rested on top of and scraped each other's handlebar, seat post, top tube, and fork. The top tube scraped down to the aluminum on both bikes - we accepted this as being a compromise of the product and chose to tape over all the existing and potential contact points.
PREOWNED/Set Up:
We bought this product for a vacation. The box was beat up, lacked packaging materials and the 910XT itself had scuffs with a layer of dirt on it. Did not return the product as processing the order would have overlapped with our vacation. The 910XT did have all the necessary components and fit our trunk. There are very easy to follow videos you can watch for installation. If you do purchase this item, make sure to tape the metal hooks as they will scratch your car - we used electric tape and that appeared to prevent scratching.
Return Policy
For most of Amazon's return policies, we find that there is a generous return period. This product is only able to be returned for 30 days - we missed the window while on vacation. We have now used the Thule for around 7 hours of travel. As it stands, the product is functional given our interventions of taping the metal hooks, anchoring the bikes to the Thule with ratchet straps, and taping our bikes. We have noticed the nubs on the Thule are bending and are in need of replacing.

Pros
- Relatively lightweight and compact solution. - - - Easy to collapse and store.
- Price seems competitive
- Forgiving and kind to your bike frame.
Cons
- Hooks that latch onto your car bodywork could be kinder to the paint/bodywork of your car.
- My enduro bike doesn’t fit too well. Not the rack’s fault but things would have been easier if the frame straps had been a bit longer.
- the two arms that hold your bike/s are pretty wobbly and fill you with dread when you look in the rear view mirror every time you go over a bump.
