No matter how small you think this is, it'll be smaller than you were expecting when you get in your hands. I have it hanging on my jacket's zipper pull and I don't even notice it. It's nice to know that I've got an emergency blade on me if I'm without my EDC (which isn't very often). I also have a little Victorinox on my keychain, so I doubt I'll ever have a real NEED for this, but it's still nice to know it's there. It's so small and so cheap, you can keep one in the tackle box, one in the glove box, one for the purse, one on your fall jacket, one on your winter coat, one on your pack or bookbag, give 'em away as cool little gifts...
The blade is remarkably sturdy for something so small. It doesn't feel like a "toy" knife. The frame lock secures the blade beyond any fear of it closing on you. The blade also seats on a ball bearing when closed, so it's a little tough to open (long nails may break). The blade seats a little past the 90 degree point (seats, NOT locks) too, so you can hook your finger over the back of the blade to use as a pulling hook blade, rather than fully opening it to the locking position. Blade was pretty sharp, but don't expect to shave with it. The blade is also stout enough to use as a small pry tool (would have no risk of damage levering up the pull tab on a soup can, for example) although Gerber probably would say it's a cutting blade, not a pry tool. Still, for $7, who cares? You could even use the back of the blade as a small scraping tool. It's surprisingly comfortable and feels pretty good in the hand. You really get solid purchase on it. It doesn't "swim" in your hand, nor feel too small to be useful.
I'd recommend this to anyone from homemaker to student to outdoorsperson. Great stocking stuffer.
The knife blade is like a razor blade, which limits what you can use it for, but for many people, that is all that is needed. The contruction is nice, solid metal with a frame lock, which is definitely a nice touch. I don't think the blade is replaceable with a razor blade, and the blade itself is pretty small so it would be difficult to sharpen. On the plus side, the Zip Blade is cheap enough to replace completely if the blade does end up dulling. Mine was very sharp out of the package. There is a zipper pull quick disconnect type attachment at the end of the blade. This is the weakest part of the Zip Blade - I wouldn't hang it off a zipper that is used constantly as the small cord will eventually fray and break, if the plastic doesn't break off first. It reminds me of a cell phone strap. It's a nice inclusion but I see it as the biggest weakness of the Zip Blade. I still have it looped into a zipper, although inside my briefcase and not on a coat or jacket. Can't complain for the price though. Of course, if this matters to you - simply remove the included strap and use your own.
This is really tiny. I read the reviews and took a scissors and cut the extension out and put on my Keychain. I showed it to the others in my office and they were impressed..
Dimensions
Folded:
1 3/4 inch long and 3/4 of an inch at it's widest point and 1/4 inch wide.
The dimenstions speak for itself
Pros
Tiny, did I say tiny
Came very sharp just about razor blade sharp
Sharpness of razor blade with the durability of a knife behind it.
Blade locks when open
Blade snaps closed eliminating possibility of accident opening
Great for opening boxes packages etc.. Light duty work where less than 3/4 inch deep [Blade Length] is required. Perfect for 99.9% of my use!
Cons
It is a little hard to open, but there is hex screws in side so I think I could adjust it, but I like that it's hard to open because it eliminates the danger that this sharp. Very sharp knife will open in your pocket by accident. So the con is also a pro.
Pros:
- The disconnect link is a nice add because it allows you to get the knife away from the huge key-ring since the mass amount of keys interfere with safe handling of a sharp-edged tool.
- Compact, light, hardly notice it but always available
- Works great in visual design because the liberal and ridiculous freaks at work are not so offended you bring a knife-TOOL to work because when closed, it just looks like a large key-ring pendant.
- Is a lock-blade, for safety. Would never just simply close on your finger under normal / proper use.
Cons:
- The blade length, though compact / cool, is a bit too short for any real business. Box cutter, at best.
- Lock in lock blade is difficult to close. Women may scrape paint from nails. As a guy, I dont care about that but certainly isnt the most comfortable process.
- Blade is tough to open/close due to having a tight hinge and that short blade just does not give much leverage. Brittle finger-nails may snap, as a guy and with strong (but very short) nails, NO problem. Still not so convenient either way.

peut etre un peu petit pour le prix.
par contre la petite cordelette à retirer et remplacer par une attache en métal style porte clef.
