This is the third book in the series. A new competition has been announced, one being held at Alcatraz. In order to qualify, each competitor must successfully complete an online puzzle. While James makes it easily, Emily struggles and she is worried enough that she looks for a plan B in finding a Golden ticket into the game. The two are also concerned that someone may be trying to keep them out of the competition as they receive threatening notes. But the real games begin once the gang makes it to Alcatraz where there seem to be multiple games in progress, and not all relate to the official game. As usual, the book is full of puzzles that the reader can attempt to solve along with the characters.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes and read the “Mr. Lemonchello’s Library” series’s. I like how throughout the the book there are adventures where Emily and James solve puzzles hide books and play games that James favorite author,Errol Roy, participates in. Particularly in this book they play a game where your supposed to ... so you win, and if you win then you get a lot of money from Errol Roy that will be given to Hollister’s book store ,which got burned in the fire and is going to have a big grand opening when it is finished. At the end James experiences shock due to finding out that Errol Roy was not actually who he thought he was,he thought he was just a mystery book’s author, but he plays another role too.
