Well made and attractive. Metal hardware can come off to put them through the dishwasher.
I'm not using these for canning, but had bought a few of these jars in different colors and sizes to use as countertop storage canisters for things like sugar and Splenda. They're well made, attractive, and latch down quite securely. In my case, I also stuck a couple of chalkboard labels on them. The metal hardware can be taken off to put them through the dishwasher if desired. I've included a photo so you can also see the scale of them (the two in the photo are both 6-3/4 oz).
