I have an incontinent dog and this stuff is great for during the week clean ups. I shampoo on the weekend.
This should be done after all elimination has been cleaned up.
My other gripes with the product are its noxious smell which I don’t feel great about having around children and pets (we usually opt for natural products, but as our home is a rental, I’m careful to keep the carpet in the same condition we found it in and thus make an exception for this stronger product on the carpets which can’t just be tossed in the wash). I feel it’s probably not the healthiest product to use in areas that can’t be rinsed after treatment / where small kids crawl and then put their hands in their mouths etc., so I intend to use this sparingly only on set-in stains. I also don’t particularly care for the spray nozzle, which can be difficult to accurately aim without overspray / waste and using easily twice as much product as necessary with each use. I would prefer a traditional spray bottle.
I’ve only just recently received it and have used it on my cream (almost white) microfiber couch and light-colored carpet with good to “meh” results, but it remains to be seen if the treated areas will attract dirt in the long term as soapy cleaners are prone to do in the long term. I’ve included a photo of my stairs which are a really high-traffic area, so I should know within a few weeks if the treated area will attract dirt. The other photo is of a spot on my couch that was only reduced by maybe half and left a noticeable border, so it definitely doesn’t work for everything and not without its risks of lightening. Definitely do a spot test and let dry for 24 hours before committing to applying it in a more noticeable place.
