ブリティッシュロックバンド、ジェスロ・タルの1st。1968/2008作
英国を代表するバンドのひとつ、記念すべきデビューアルバムの2枚組コレクターズエディション。
ディスク1には初CD化であるモノ・ミックスに68年のBBC音源を9曲収録。
ディスク2はPeter Mewによるニュー・ステレオ・ミックスと同時期のシングルのモノ・ミックスを収録。
やはりモノラルよりはステレオ音源の方が耳心地がよい。後のアルバムに比べプログレ要素は薄いが、
イアン・アンダーソンのフルートが舞う、ブルージーで土の香りのするブリティッシュロックを味わえる。

Klasse remastered, da kommt endlich das ganze Können der Band so richtig zur Geltung.
Speziell das Schlagzeugsolo von Clive Bunker in "Dharma for one" ist einfach unnachahmlich und in der Live-Fassung genauso gut wie im Studio.

Soy gran seguidor del Blues del Jazz y en general de toda la música de inigualable calidad aparecida durante la década de los 60's y 70's básicamente
Esta obra de Jethro Tull estandartes en sus inicio del llamado BLUES BRITÁNICO, el This Was ya lo compré y escuche en el año 1968 año de su edición en vinilo. He vuelto a adquirir este disco en CD i la verdad lo he oído por enésima vez ===> Una autentica gozada , uno de los mejores álbumes no solo de Jethro si no de muchas décadas. Temas como My Sunday Feeling, Dhrama for One, Cat's Squirrel., It's Breaking me up y sobre todo A Song for Jeffrey se me antojan irrepetibles.
Para quien le interés conocer más sobre Jethro Tull unos nº1 y sobre el Blues Britanico existe una libro muy completo pero conciso en España llamado La música del Diablo- Historia del Blues Británico de la editorial Curbet y escrito, en mi opinión, por un gran conocedor de la materia José Mª Domenech Fedi donde podeis encontra muy buena información sobre esta música.

My copy arrived and all I can say is....Great! I got an incredible price
on this set so that means I'm a happy customer. There is so much material
on these two discs, we really get our moneys worth. The second disc has the
whole album in a new stereo mix. The remastering was done by Peter Mew at
Abbey Road studios and this means we are getting the absolute best possible
version of this very first Tull album. For the collector this is the only way
to go. At the time of this writing the cost of this gem from 1968 is about
twenty bucks online. I saw it the other day for about $35 at our local retail
outlet in Toronto. Great sonics, decent price.....What's not to like?
