Product Description
The Morakniv Companion is an all-in-one knife made for outdoor enthusiasts. Equipped with a patterned, high-friction grip, it’s comfortable to hold and easy to handle. It also features a 4.1-inch (104 mm) blade made of high-quality stainless steel. The Companion performs well during high-impact tasks, like creating tinder or cutting wood. When used in wet applications, the blade should be dried thoroughly to prevent blade corrosion and may exhibit a patina or natural discoloration over time. You should also clean and oil your off-grid knives regularly, especially after contact with acidic foods like oranges. Includes a sheath with belt clip.

The knife feels good and the hard shell sheath does a great job of keeping it secure. The Morakniv is much more comfortable to use compared to my Leatherman and I prefer to use a knife like this for bigger tasks. I think having the combination of both my multi-tool and this particular knife will prove to be a winning combination around the house and for camping trips. It's well made and one that is not so expensive that I'm too scared to put it to work. I recommend.
I have read lots of reviews where people worry about full tang and batoning thru wood, This is a knife- not a hatchet. Its designed to cut not chop. I am convinced its tough enough to do anything a reasonable knife user could need to do. Honestly I have never been in a any woods in my life where there wasn't plenty of twigs and small stuff to just pick up. While you are batoning I could build ten fires with stuff I just pick up. I have spent 67 years in the woods and outdoors. I think I may know a bit about this. If you need a good sharp and durable knife to USE this is so inexpensive that its silly to not just get one and be happy. Trapper
Although I would have preferred the carbon steel — and would recommend that version to anyone in a dry climate — I live in an area where humidity is an issue, so I opted for the stainless steel model. I use both carbon and stainless knives, and, honestly, other than being slightly easier to sharpen and a bit less likely to snap under stress, modern stainless steel is just as good.
My only constructive criticism is the sheath: the blade snaps in and hold securely, but after some use, it will fall right out unless you keep the sheath/blade perfectly upright. But this IS NOT a mark against the blade. You can buy Kydex and other aftermarket sheaths online, but they are about 2 to 3 times the cost of the knife — around $25 to $50 as of writing this post. Worth it to me, but most people probably wouldn’t be cool with a sheath costing more than the knife. The sheath it comes with will function just fine. But be careful not to lean to far forward while carrying it, or the knife will slide out.
The knife fits my hand very well, great ergonomics, and I have large hands. But even smaller hands will find the handle very comfortable, and it will not move around in your hand while using it. So far, the handle has ZERO hot spots. All-in-all, I DEFINITELY recommend this knife, or any knife by Mora. For the price, durability, and an awesome warranty, you just can’t go wrong.
