IPX6 Standard Protection — Stormproof

At Aquapac we use an internationally recognised standard of waterproofing — the IPX scale, ranging from IPX0 (no protection) to IPX8 (protection against continuous immersion). IPX6 is defined as providing comprehensive protection against powerful water jets — that is water projected at all angles through a 12.5mm nozzle — and we call this Stormproof. In practice, this will keep your gear safe from rain, mud or spray in severe stormy conditions!

Sealed From The Elements

This radio case is constructed from incredibly tough 70D PU-coated ripstop nylon and features a secure roll-down seal that keeps out rain, mud, dust and dirt — offering excellent protection against the elements whilst giving you full access to its functions through the ultra-clear window. The side-release buckle fastening ensures that it’s both quick to snap closed and to unlock for ultimate security and convenience.

For Professional and Recreational Use

The Stormproof Waterproof VHF radio case is ideal for your keeping your radio safe, dry and protected from extreme weather, whatever your needs — both professional and recreational! Whether you’re up in the hills or out on the water, our stormproof radio pouch is an essential companion whenever you need to keep in touch in stormy conditions. Protecting and carrying a VHF has never been easier!

It does the job and fit perfect
I really like the cose, so it will give additional protection agains water when kayaking or hiking to my amateur ham radios or GMRS as show in the image in this case a Yaesu ft70. This product is IPX5 so it protect from spray of water on any direction so if its raining or get wet in my kayak it will do the job, also if drop it into the water and grab it fast. I have not tested yet how fast it get water when submerge, but I not gonna dive with it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waterproof finish flakes off causing leaks
Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2022
The waterproof coating flakes off where you roll from the top down. Even though I took good care of this pack, it started leaking after a dozen uses.
