Your next gathering will be a hit with 5 Second Rule!
There’s 5 seconds on the timer for you to name the 3 things listed on the card.
Can you name 3 breeds of dogs? Can you name 3 finger foods? That’s easy! Well, not quite! 5 Second Rule is the seemingly simple game that gets players tongue-tied as the timer moves and other players are waiting for your answers. Say what comes to mind and some ridiculous answers will pop out. 5 Second Rule will have everyone laughing!
Simple topics? Sure. . . but in 5 seconds.
Name 3 flavors of ice cream. Name 3 professional football teams. Name 3 Olympic cities. Name 3 animals you wouldn’t want as a pet. These topics are quite simple to answer but not as 5 seconds tick away!
The Twisted Timer is Zoooooper Fun!
5 Second Rule’s twisted timer adds another element of fun with its zoooooop sound. Don’t let it be a distraction as the balls slide down to mark your 5-second turn.

The idea behind the game is simple...or so you may think! You are given 5 seconds to come up with three answers to a category. Now that may be an easy task when you aren't under pressure but given 5 seconds to get your thoughts in gear and trust me, your mind WILL go blank! That's where the fun comes in! The next person has to try to come up with three answers that can not include any of the answers you stated. You think it's easy, just try it and it gets harder and harder as you go along!
This game is addictive! It is FUN! You will be laughing yourself to tears! I can tell you that my family really loved playing this game. We intended to play for 30 minutes and wound up playing for hours! The great part about this game is that EVERYONE can participate in playing. Mom even yelled her answers from the kitchen while cleaning the dishes, we just turned her timer for her! The great thing about this game is no matter what age you are...it has questions for every age!
I honestly can't say enough good things about this game. It is good old fashioned fun! I'm going to buy a few more and give them out as gifts! With Valentine's Day coming up, give this one to your love! Who needs candy and flowers?, I'd rather have fun and laughter!!

What I like about the game is you can play spur of the moment and stop anytime. Just set the point goal or the time frame you want to play in.
I recommend this for any Me that can read. Or even if you can’t.
LET START WITH THE THINGS I DO LIKE ABOUT THIS GAME:
* The rules are simple.
* The game play is snappy and gets your heart rate up.
* There are a decent number of questions (578)
* Many of the cards are genuinely funny and challenging. For example, name 3 things you shouldn't do at a funeral, or name 3 prime numbers.
THESE ARE THE THINGS I'M NOT SO CRAZY ABOUT:
* Too many of the cards are boring, like name 3 kitchen appliances. The only thing that makes this a challenge is you have 5 seconds, but that's not good enough.
* The really cool timer broke after two uses.
* Here is the biggest problem I have. Whether an answer is acceptable is subjective. I cringe when I see this feature in a game because it invariably leads to arguing, and here, time spent looking things up. I firmly believe the golden rule of party games is to avoid subjectivity.
These examples illustrate the subjectivity problem.
* The card asks you to name 3 "All-Inclusive Resorts." First, I'm not sure what that even means. Second, who's to say? According to the game rules, the group decides.
* A more "objective" cards asks you to name 3 of the 13 original colonies. At least those are answers that objectively exist and won't lead to fighting.
Overall, I think this is a fun game with a few flaws. I have the very same comments about the game "Name 5" which is basically the same game as "5 Second Rule" but without the 5-second snazzy timer. Name 5 Game
It only took us a few seconds to figure out how to play and we had a group that ranged in age from 11 to 60. We all played and had a great time, with just a few exceptions. We did love the fact that we could just pick it up and play without spending 15 minutes figuring out what to do, but our major complaint was that there are quite a few university and sports cards and none of us knows either college or professional sports teams. I could see why this topic would be popular, but we just agreed to toss any sports-related cards because no one knew anything about this. The game also comes with enough cards to play a few times a year, but I would like the ability to order extras just in case we wanted enough cards to play on a more frequent basis.
Overall, it's a fun, fast-paced game that everyone enjoyed and that I would highly recommend. The 16 year old ended up winning even though he had never heard of some of the questions. It's not really about what you know, but how quickly you can think (though most people do need to know most of the topics - we did, other than the sports). We did find ourselves getting faster as time went by, and it was nice to feel like everyone's brains were starting to work faster!
I would recommend this as a party game for all ages and especially for a mixed group of all ages that might not otherwise have a lot in common.
