To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
May I please still return? We were out of town. We bought another gift for our grandson. This product very disappointing and poor quality. I am a very frequent user of Amazon and hope to have some leniency. Thank you for understanding.
This is just plain fun! We got it at Christmastime and even the young ones could turn the crank. Fair warning though. You must not use icemaker cubes because you need to put sugar in the water and make your own cubes in a tray. If you don't, the ice will be too hard and the kids won't be able to make the ice shaver work. It will be too hard to do. But that being said, it works great. Just like the ones when you were a kid! (and BTW, you don't need to buy the refills for flavoring. Use your favorite juice, It's better for the kids.
Literally for anyone on any occasion- wedding, divorce, wisdom teeth removal, college graduation, coming out, festivus, even the dreaded baby shower- when they give you that look of “what the …?”. You tell them that it’s for the kid in all of us- now get the heck out of that dentist’s chair and make me a snow cone!”
I had this when I was a kid. I wasn’t the one turning the crank, so I don’t know if it was any harder back then. It is nearly impossible to shave a standard ice cube with this thing. At best I was able to shave one or two slivers. The instructions in the box say to freeze a Solution of sugar and water, but it doesn’t say how much sugar to water ratio. I haven’t tried this yet, but I imagine it would be easier to shave this ice cube than a regular just water ice cube. I wound up using my ninja blender to blend the ice cubes, which works nicely but this is not a ninja blender review. Also the packet to make syrup was disgusting. It uses aspartame to sweeten the juice. I wound up buying a Kool-Aid packet and making my own syrup. And the clamp they included to stabilize the house when you crank it wouldn’t fit on my table or counter. I literally only used the paper cup that came in the package, the little red shovel, and the syrup squeezer out of the box. Otherwise the product was unusable. I should have trusted the reviews, but my little nostalgic heart really wanted it to work.
