Editorial Reviews
Limited double vinyl LP pressing. 2015 release, the highly anticipated third full length album from the much loved Australian band. Currents is the follow up to 2012's Lonerism. Kevin Parker, the musician behind Tame Impala, explained that Currents is about the process of personal transformation. He said, "It follows the progression of someone feeling like they are becoming something else. They're becoming the kind of person they thought they'd never become." The cover art for Currents was created by Kentucky-based artist and musician Robert Beatty. Parker has said Currents' designs are based on a diagram of vortex shedding he remembered while trying to visualize the album's themes. Includes the single 'Let It Happen'.

I can’t quite put my finger on what type of music this actually is…but i will say that the album artwork is a visual representation of what it sounds like; a very bassy, funky, electronic, MDMA-fueled synthesizer acid trip groove. It’s dope as hell, and i’m glad I discovered this. Fun fact: this whole album is written, recorded, performed, and engineered by one person - Kevin Parker. This album will be playing in our house for a while…it’s awesome, and every single song on it is good. In 2050, i foresee some dude riding his hoverboard on his way to work, and listening to this album while drinking his Ocean Spray cranberry juice.
1.) The "Yes, I'm Changing" song had a scratched/skipped on the "I was raging," part. The other songs i played didn't have any problems when i played it.
2.) The discs looked a bit wonky when i took it out from the LP but i ain't complaining alot about cause i love this LP.
Other than that, I love the cover and the artwork on it. I love Kevin's work on the Currents and all of his other stuff! Can't wait buy his Slow Rush LP when i eventually (No pun intended) get it!
