FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I reset my tracker?

lf your tracker is not responding, it may be fixed by restarting.

  1. Open the battery door using the battery door tool and remove the battery.
  2. Wait 10 seconds.
  3. Place the battery back into the tracker with the "+" side facing up, and close the door.
  4. Your Zip will now be reset. You will see your tracker's version number, followed by a series of Fitbit Smilies. When you tap your tracker, you should be able to navigate through the screens as you normally would.

How do I reinstall the battery?

Your Zip's display is powered by a 3V coin battery, CR 2025. If your Zip won't turn on, it may be due to a drained or misaligned battery.

To reinstall the battery in your Zip:
  1. Insert the battery door tool into the rear door slot of your Zip and turn it counter-clockwise to unlock the battery door.
  2. Remove the door and battery.
  3. Reinsert your battery with the positive (+) end facing up, and replace the battery door.
  4. Insert the battery tool and turn clockwise to lock the battery door. The door should be flush with the rear of the tracker.

If only it would track correctly!
I was really excited about receiving the Fitbit zip in exchange for an honest unbiased review, because I had been wanting one for awhile. I really like the style and how I can clip it to my jeans I put it near my waist. It doesn't move, and after awhile I forget that I even have it on. It's a little bigger than the size of a quarter. The actual device is placed in the clip holder, which keeps it pretty secure. The device can be removed from the holder if it needs to be reset or to do a battery change. On the face of the device you can see steps taken, distance, and calories burned, plus also displays the time. To view ea number all you have to do is tap the right side of the device. For example the time is displayed, if i tap it, it then displays # steps taken, and so on. The fitbit zip was easy to set up, and create an account for it online to activate, so your activity will be recorded not too bad, but I did have my husband help me with that. Having the program on my laptop is pretty neat, you can see all your activity, earn badges, set a goal, and even compete with your friends, assuming they have a type of fitbit device as well. Oh and a neat thing is that you get a fresh start the next, because the device resets itself at midnight to zero! Pretty neat!I set up my fitbit zip in the evening after it was delivered so of course i really didn't have much activity, but the fitbit zip showed I had done like 3,000 steps, within like 2 hrs, when I knew that was incorrect. Husband then help me reset it. So I think I'm good to go. Well the next day I put it on and forget about it and I go off and run errands. Later that night we checked my steps and logged in as well, it showed i had done 10,000 steps! Now I know I didn't walk that much!! So I'm guessing with the movement of the car, from driving it just kept adding steps! I was hoping it would bring me some much needed motivation, to get me active. But I'm not feeling so motivated when it is not tracking correctly. It's a nice device when it does work and I am not having to reset it! It does make a nice watch though!! I really like the design of it and hope after resetting for a 3rd time that it will finally record correctly. I don't know if any other owners of this device have this same issue. I would have liked better directions or more info on the device included in the box. I'm hoping third times a charm, I really want it to work correctly!I will be resitting the fitbit zip and using it for a couple of days and depending how it does, I will update you.

5.0 out of 5 stars ... using Fitbit for over a month and found it useful for tracking daily activities and counting calories
Reviewed in India on August 25, 2015
I am using Fitbit for over a month and found it useful for tracking daily activities and counting calories. Its a great tool which works seamlessly with popular calorie tracking apps including myfitnesspal that I use.

Works with several fitness apps
No need to recharge batteries
Waterproof silicon cover with strong clip to hold on to your cloth

Too small, so easy to lose
No alarm function

Overall a good fitness tracker if you have limited budget.

Update on 25th October:

Fitbit still working great but the metal part from silicon cover has come out so I am unable to clip it to my cloth.
